Bro, i think camel shrimp is not reef safe.. i am not too sure too but it did finsih up my whole colony of blue mushroom in the previous tank... the shrimp was being banished to my refugium now.. add half a dozen sand stars to your tank leh... they will keep ur sand bed free from algae and diatoms. The best part is they always hide in the sand and not visible most of the time...

Discover that there is a tendency for the sorb-4 to escape out from the FR into the sump. DIY a strainer & stand to remove any escaped sorb-4... The strainer can be easily remove to change the cotton... The concept is exactly the same as tea leaves strainer place into a tea cup.. Looks better than what i had expected it to be...

Found some excess material so DIY a new light fixture for the mangrove.. it is actually to make my job in trimming them easier.. i do not need to remove the lights now as there are sufficient room above for me to work on... Will keep the mangrove at this height and trim it to look like a bonsai..

Bro, just some caution to Jaubert plenum style sand bed.. The size of sand grain & depth of each layer must be followed to exact precision. The trick is: The total depth and grain size must be in such proportion such that the void water column is low in oxygen level but not totally deprived (Hydrogen Sulphide will be produced in such circumstances) of it.. Alot of reefers reported failure in such system because of overlook in the areas of choosing grain size & required depth for each layers... To cut long story short. i have a book dedicated to the setup of Jaubert style system by Bob Goemans.. U can borrow it if u need... It's exciting to see someone setting up based on this concept and all the wonderful benefits this system can reap... Cheers for u, bro
