Need help here... I just bought 2 sand stars and both are losing their arms within 3 days.... WHAT HAPPEN? All parameters are fine. My 3rd starfish (attached pics) is fine .. Only the sand star is dying.... LS. No fish. 1 cleaner shrimp, i camel shrimp, 3 blue legged hermit..

I kept my pre mix salt water in a big rubbish bucket. But i kept the salinity double the normal salt water. i just add in tap water to the required salinity before doing water changes.. But i am not sure whether this procedure is advisable, because i found out that when the salinity strength is doubled, there is alot of white powder on the bottom. Just wondering if the white powder is calcium precipitation because when the salinity double, theoritically the calcium concentration also double.. Maybe the forum gurus can comment on this method as well...

Hi all, For my 90cm tank, i am looking to get 1 unit of MH + 2x 39W T5. Will be keeping mostly soft corals and placing them on the left & right side of tanks and the centre portion for some LPS. What will be a good recommendation? [1] 1x150W + 2x 39 T5 integrated in a single unit?? [2] Buy individually for 1x150W MH & the T5 in a separate package? [3] Looking for opinion for the Giesemann Nova II unit. One of the reefer is selling 2nd hand. Understand that it is using low-loss magnetic ballast. How does that compare to electronic ballast. With so much information, i am abit confused. Need help to make a better decision before committing a million :bow:

Thanks bros for all your opinion & comments… Maybe I just place sand on the front portion of the tank leaving those areas under the LR as bare bottom. I observed that LR produce an awful lot of brown dirty powder and very unsightly. I hope by having this arrangement, I can siphon those brown stuffs out of the tank… Cheers…
