Kalkwasser is the cheapest way to maintain Ca & alkalinity... but need to dose correctly lor.. else it not only depleted ur Ca but together with drop in alkalinity as well...

Good choice to get an alage blenny.. a hard working fellow, as always..

Signzzz.... it will usually produce skimmate when i introduce some new things in but the skimmate usually last only for a day.... subsequently, foam column and collection cup is spotless clean.. Have a feeling that the skimmer is just acting as an air pump now to improve dissolve oxygen level... Just introduce a PT in yesterday and a YT in the next few days... If still no skimmate, think may need to change skimmer.. haha... As hammy put it, if the NO3 remains to be zero and no diatom problem in the tank, why bothered if the skimmer is foaming or not!!

in the long run, CR should be more cost effective, i think. At least, it is a one do everything equipment in maintaining the Ca, Mg, etc.... and less time consuming..

bro, why had you decided to change out to deltec skimmer? not sticking to your schuran 150?

Bro, can share more on the running cost you are mentioning.. I had not use a CR before... can do a brief breakdown of running cost??

who says my tank got no fish except an algae blenny... hehe..Bought a nice simple fish today.... As for the so call tonga prata, i do like the color though.. but it seems to me like they remains the same regardless if the lights were on or off... or if they been closed all the while!!!

bro jervismun recommend tropic marine Mg... i believe it should be good... hey hey hey... appreciate the basic setup of the dosing mechanism abit leh.. Though i do not like the idea of putting that though, but that is how reefers dose kalkwasser 2 decade ago... No electricity required, no tube, no pump, no controller... haha... Kent Marine have one something like that if i remember correctly...

KH drop as much as 4 if not dose for a day!!!!! my 10x sand star did a fantastic job as well.... i may have over stock for just a 3 ft tank.. but just love them... gg to add sand star too...
