https://vimeo.com/117090751 Just collected my gyre 135 from DE. I'm quite happy with it's performance as it's able to stir my bottom portion which my wp40 was not able to. I'm still running my wp 40 at 50% at "else" mode. Previously, I was running the wp40 using w1 pulse mode and Tunze 6055. Both pumps pointing at upper portion. However, I find my bottom portion quite still and thus having dead spots with algae growth on the sand. The gyre pump is able to stir both the bottom and top. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well planned sump. Neat and sleek. There's hardly any acrylic makers in SG so it's good that you have a local guy who works with acrylic. Why didn't you choose a acrylic tank as well?

It's definitely more economical using RO/DI especially for larger volume tanks. Else you'll need to spend more in changing DI media. The RO is meant for sediment, carbon and RO stages are meant to strip yr water from most of yr impurities and the last stage which is your DI just "polishes" off. With this set-up, you do not need to change yr DI media so often. Without the RO filter, yr DI is the work horse.

Here's my latest tank shot with black fine sand from peong. Love the black fine sand! Thanks buddy! The red spectrum of LEDs is most effective for plant growth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Took some black fine sand for my nano and poured the remaining at the front part of my tank to see how it looks. I've found that the red and blue spectrum of LEDs is most effective for chaeto growth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
