  1. Thanks Joe for the website link - "Jedi's Mind Trick montipora". The photo image found in vivid aquarium matches the specimen. I'm not getting red polyps probably becos not having intense lightings. Happy that I got a rare find.
  2. Could thisbe this if given enough blue light? The green base and purple rim colours are similiar but just can't get the fire polyps. My suspect is that I'm not giving enough blue light to bring out the red poylps as it's placed in a corner of my tank. I got this from Jack when he decom his tank. The first photo is taken by Jack and the second pic is found in the net. ID as fire polyps undata. I just get a good shot of it in my tank. The purple rim is now more distinctive than in his pic. I am shinning my par30 on it.
  3. Hi Klyve, was just admiring your tank thread as well. You have a large and awesome SPS collection yourself! The royal blue Milli is my favourite pc as well. I lost mine when I was battling with hair algae at 1 point of time. Hope to get a frag one day. Have I met you in 1 of the LFS before?
  4. Just took a video using my iphone. Just for the fun if it...
  5. Without chiller, not advisable to put corals. Alternatively, you can use a fan to cool your tank and try some hardy corals like some Zoas, mushrooms.
  6. All pumps do have a certain amount of noise. I use eheim for all my pumps(1250, 1260, 1262, 1264). I choose ehim becos of it's reliability. Noise level is fine with me. With regular maintenance, these pumps can last you a few years.
  7. Here's another copy and paste post from rc: Great thread on RC about potassium. You can get cheap food grade potassium here: http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=777 The RC thread is here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...m&pagenumber=1 Edited for Cliff Notes version of thread: Some have noticed that with low K+ (potassium) their montis and other SPS appear faded. After dosing K+ at a rate of 1 tsp of potassium chloride will raise 100g of water by 25ppm. Dissolve 2 tsp of KCl in 1 cup of RO water and dose daily. At one time I was 200ppm deficient. It took quite a bit of potassium to bring my levels up, and now my montis and SPS have all colored back up.
  8. Potassium defiency causes pale looking sps. Some people in reef central have tried this product with good results. Dose in moderation. Try with 1 teaspoon a week. You can go to the below links to find out more. This is a cheaper substitute to the branded potassium products in the market. I have tried it myself and my tank is fine. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1394953 http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...m&pagenumber=1
  9. I have 4 bottles of Potassium Chloride powder FS. Each bottle @ $7. I ordered it online from US. If you're interested to know more about this product, do some research at Reef Central. Mainly used on SPS dominated tanks. Collection at Depot Rd. SMS me at 81117171.
  10. Yup, megaman has quite a good variety. You can also refer to aquarium artist sponsor thread. I remembered he posted some fixtures. Dr evil has the clip on type.
  11. Also inspect for eggs. Better to remove the Monti and other Montis and digis to do a through inspection with a magnify glass. Use a brush to remove them before doing a dip. Like Thomas said, they re- produce very fast. That's why i'm really cautious abt adding new corals without physically inspecting them first before doing a rx dip.
