25 Nov Test result

PH 8.0 - 8.45
KH = 7
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
phosphate - between 0 - 0.5 I really cannot differentiate the colour.
nitrate 10ppm. Strange.. where is this coming from. So lightly stocked.
Calcium 420 - great. Will try to increase this to approx 450.
Magnesium only 1100.
8 Dec Test Result
Salinity 1.025
PH: 8.0 - 8.37
KH = 8 (increased by 1)
ammonia, nitrite = 0
Phosphate = 0
Nitrate = 5ppm (dropped despite higher stocking level. Did the clams played a part?)
Cal 420 (maintained)
Mg 1150. ( I have been dosing very conservatively. Guess I can increase to the reccommended dosage amount 15 - 20ml per 20 gallon)
Looking at the reading on the 8 Dec, does that mean I can space out my WC to another week longer?
Pls advise, gurus.
at night , when CO2 is higher, PH will always be lower.
In the day, CO2 is lower, PH will always be higher.
So throughout a 24 hr period, PH will swing according to the above.
The question is how much it swings. The lesser will be better.
two updates:
1) The Randal's goby has won the battle and the war
He has a foothold in his corner now. The Tangaroa pretty much leaving it alone and dare not venture into that corner.
The reason is because he has paired up with the pistol.
clever little goby.
2) Found broken fin and tail on the R Goby. Not sure if it is due to the attack or if it is due to Brooklynellosis.....
Fishes with Brooklynellosis has brittle fin and tail right?
How long does it take for this disease to die off in a tank without finding a host?
does anyone know?
yeah. just did a roll call yesterday. He is always in the same cave.
never seen it venture out. I think he should do well.
All the fishes have settled down well (except for the squabbling between the 2 Gobies)
I just need to maintain the water quality.
