at night , when CO2 is higher, PH will always be lower. In the day, CO2 is lower, PH will always be higher. So throughout a 24 hr period, PH will swing according to the above. The question is how much it swings. The lesser will be better.

+1 mine is swinging from 8.00 - 8.4+ really bad.

two updates: 1) The Randal's goby has won the battle and the war He has a foothold in his corner now. The Tangaroa pretty much leaving it alone and dare not venture into that corner. The reason is because he has paired up with the pistol. clever little goby. 2) Found broken fin and tail on the R Goby. Not sure if it is due to the attack or if it is due to Brooklynellosis..... Fishes with Brooklynellosis has brittle fin and tail right? How long does it take for this disease to die off in a tank without finding a host? does anyone know?

for nano, 1.5 ft cube is a good size. You can easily get a oversize your chiller, skimmer for it. (except for lighting - hard to get 1.5 ft light )

nano cannot do too large volume water changes. parameters will swing.... more frequent prob ok.

my guess is that the live sand helped? Are you using cured rocks from reefers/ your dad too?
