  1. Thanks Qiang. I like the "zoas bridge" I built at the front of the tank. The pic doesn't give it justice. The bridge is extended out with just 1 end epoxy-ed. The other end is open without any support and danging in mid water. (hope it doesn't drop) From the right side view, you can actually see open end of the bridge terminated by a monti. Gonna try to get another few different coloured frags and have a monti area there.
  2. Long time outstanding.... pics of my rescape Previous scape New scape - left side view Still a little barren on this side. Wanted to remove the rock this the clam is on but not sure how to remove the clam. Do not want to hurt it in the process so it will still be there until I figure how to remove it. right side view you will notice that I have about 1.5 - 2 inch space behind at my backwall now to eliminate deadspots. Vortech has been moved to blow directly at the rear area (from the right tank wall) since I have zoas and yumas practically almost everywhere in my tank. Trying to create a low flow area in the tank at the front display area. The return from the chiller is hitting the front of the tank at the top and so will the return from my 2026 cannister after I install it this week will also hit directly at the front of my tank wall. Any comments of this placement? FTS The scape is done in such a way that the top gradually slope towards the front at the bottom. It is much higher than the previous scape and hence more space for corals. There is a cave at the bottom right side. Planning to remove those yumas on these rocks and leave that cave empty. Probably have to sell another yuma rock away. Too cluttered for my liking now.
  3. was thinking of getting one but decided against it coz I put my hand in the tank quite often. dun wanna get pricked.
  4. I have exhausted 2 bottle of live pods already. Live pods cannot be their long term diet... my pocket will go bust before them. Hopefully it is taking in the processed pods or some of the planktonic food that I m feeding.
  5. np my pleasure. just put them in a low flow area. I hope my zoa colour up & flourish too
  6. This topic "Newbie Tank" is 200% misleading.
  7. woohoo finally after months of planning. nice to see thoughts turn into reality. **tracking closely.
  8. Hey Gary Yah the new scaping looks much much better. thumbs up.
  9. can can. just give me a call tml. not sure if we will be going to the zoo tml either noon or at 4pm. other than that, should be at home.
  10. My clingfish seems weaker by the day. Do not thnk he will last... I love this fella. My AoG zoas. recovering slowly. Hope they get well soon. They have not open up for the last 2 days and I think I am now left with 2 polyps (from 3) only. Comycus, The pink is slowly recovering. Very faint but the camera seems to capture their colour better than with our naked eye. One of my favorite from Peacemaker Most of the zoas seems to be opening up more now.
  11. kimkim I have frag 5 -6 polyps of this zoas for you. Just let me know when you wanna come collect. Comy you wanted a xenia the last time we spoke. I have frag a pc of mine. Let me know if you want this.
  12. ... another big wow..... uppz for you bro. great stuff!
  13. well i usually purchase NSW from LFS. From the last time reading taken till yesterday, I only changed 10% of the water. So changes will be minimum definitely. I bought mixed salt water from SL the last time. Have not tested their water param yet. On the Mg level, I have underdosed the Mg. Suppose to dose 20ml daily to raise it Mg by 18.5 ppm per day. I have been dosing like 5 ml per 2 - 3 days recently. I will dose 20 ml of Mg daily for 2 weeks and see how's the response. Nitrate remains because a couple of fishes died due to the rescaping, my skimmer was not working for the last 3 days. I have yet to install my Eheim Cannister 2026, with the biohommes and more carbon, it should drop to about 5 ppm Lets see how things go 1 week later.
  14. Did a water test today. Last WC was on Tuesday and used SL saltwater mix. I think I can reduce the WC frequency to every fortnightly instead of weekly. dKH - 8.0 Mg 1140 - so low... Calcium 420 Phosphate 0.25 ppm Nitrate 10 ppm
  15. not that I know of. MaxSpect is not dimmable.
  16. good suggestiion. lets play by ear as we approach the date. those interested just pen your name down.
  17. thomas, you only need to change 10-15% every week. for your tank size should be only about 3L leh. (2 x 1.5L bottles)
  18. can lah np. easy peasy. dun mention it. SMS you when I am done fragging my frag lol.
  19. I think Saltmix water, you can just store them in a bottle and use it next time. why do you want to put them in fridge? store at room temp will do. Natural sea water cannot keep for more than 3 days aerated. If you buy the 1.5l distilled water from NTUC, I think each bottle cost only about 85cents. Reckon you will need only 2 bottles per WC so shld be okay. not too expensive.
  20. Bro. just check your tank is actually 2 feet right? 60 W is prob for 1 ft tank. 110W will be just nice for your tank size.
