update in Livestock: Helfrichi (since mid Mid Mar) My firefish has suddenly turned very timid. I seldom see it in the open now ever since the introduction of the FA. Zoom out and back in a flash. I have been flooding the tank just to ensure that the food floats near his vicinity. Flame Angel (since mid April) Not feeding pellets. only takes in frozen. Looking healthy and gradually putting on weight 2x Splendid Leopard Wrasse (Since end Apr) So far so good. Wakes up at 10 am and goes to bed at 12 midnight only feeding on mysis. two of them always hang out together. real cute. The tailspot blenny & the yellow gang (Yellow Tang, Yellow Wrasse, Yellow Clown Goby) are still doing good. Will probably add more fishes 2 weeks later and likely to get Henry's reef gourmet as their main diet.

kind of disagree leh.... I know seeding kind of speeding up the purple growth. But even if you have just a tank of dead rocks, over time once the water condition in right, coraline will eventually grow in the tank. Pls correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Richie Sounds like you are facing a mini crisis here. Hope more bros can chip in to help. Some questions: - What water are you using for your WC? salt mix / NSW? Do you measure there parameters before adding? - What is your ORP now in the morning and in the night? - You are using PH controller connected to your CR right? What is your PH swing from the morning to the night? - What is your dosing pump dosing? - For the zoas case: did you dip your zoas? are there any nudis visible on the tank walls? zoapox? Sorry for the posting so many questions. Just trying to help you narrow down the problem.

I had a 2.5 ft fish only tank. I keep tap water overnight and used them for top up for 2+ years. no effect on the fishes. Emperor morph from juvenile to adult coloration. But I would strongly suggest you add some water conditioners just to be safe especially if you are staying in West (especially Jurong West/ Jalan Bahar area).

Due to lighting shock, some zoas lose colours in the initial few weeks. Those in my tank takes 1 - 2 months to start recovering their colours but some never do. Lighting plays a strong part too. Hope you are using using DI water for Top up and WC. Try like what law says - add a little iodine periodically. REplenish trace elements and you can also add some amino acids, multi vitamin in the tank.
