  2. During the initial stage of a newly setup tank, there will be a lot of undesirable hairy algae, diatoms that surfaces. having tuxedo urchin will help to clean these algae, diatoms on the rock. The path that these urchin leave behind after munching will be white. I have a pic on my tank thread. will try to see if I can find it. As Ray mentioned... Tuxedo consumes all types of algae.... including coraline algae. Coraline algae are purple algae the encrust on Live Rocks... highly desired by a lot of reefers. So once after the algae boom stage in the newly setup tank is over, then you can sell or give them away so that your coraline algae has a chance to grow. Hopes this make sense.
  3. Just out of curiousity and a silly question... why get such large size fishes? I mean you have a large tank but if you can get moderate size fishes ... your tank will not look so crowded? btw, your tank... scape already need to go for daily spa treatment for a fortnight....

  6. Thanks Darter for the compliment. looking forward to see your new tank.
  7. lol... interesting thread even before tank cycling.... you can try keeping "see hum", lala also.... yum yum.... tuxedo urchin can keep during initial stage (1st 2- 3 months) will help to keep your brown algae boom in check during new tank syndrome. after that, you can sell the urchin away.
  8. G goby !!!! I missed mine. they are very hardy. likely hidding. they usually come out when your lights are just switched off. I used search for mine with a torch light. They will always take the same route too... so once you detect them, just ambush them around the same area.... they will always return to the same spot via the same path.. in a small tank.
  9. Hey bro Good job and welcome back to marine. your tank is still pretty small.... 2x1x1 ft. go easy on stocking and choose nano fishes cheers & happy reefing

  23. Agree with CA. You have been long enough in SRC, bro BFG. The way that Lemon walks and talks.... you should know him by now. Your response (to me out of the blue) could be due to pent up frustrations. I think he is learning and has toned down tremendously already. Close one eye, let him be and give him space & time to grow/ mature. He has the right to pen his views..... and so do you.....
