Lol I think you are undecided because being a newbie, you prefer something that comes in a set. So that you will not go wrong buying your tank. This is quite true for a newbie. But if u get the RSM, after 6 months, you will realize that there are quite a lot of limitations with the tank. Light not powerful enough to sustain more demanding corals, u will need to spend another $400 -$600 for a LED lightset. But a bit more tricky because you need to mod the canopy for the lighting as yours is an enclosed tank. The RSM skimmer is not powerful enough to sustain your livestock, you want to upgrade to a more powerful skimmer , u need to fork out $500 for a Deltec MCE600 HOB skimmer. But wait, u cannot because your RSM has an IOS and the MCE Skimmer cannot hang there. Well these are just 2 examples I am illustrating. There are others of course. Make no mistake, i do feel that the RSM is a nice tank and that it is possible to turn it into a beautful reef but you would need to be more careful with the livestock selection anD the stocking level. You would also need to be sure that you can be contented with these constraints for the next 1-2 years at least. Cause the next time you change, it will probably be an upgrade to one of those tanks mentioned by the bros above cause you can hardly upgrade the eqpt as I have listed above. Then you would need to make a loss selling the RSm and incur another cost buying the new tank and eqpt. It's ok if only the RSM isn't so expensive (IMO) Hope I have not made u more confused

Lol dear Michael I was brainwashed by SL Sam for many years on the use of polyfilter.... And I quite stand by it on the removal of organic waste. You can simply do a test. In your mechanical filtration, Place a piece of polyfilter and on top of it, place a layer of normal cotton. Leave it there for 1-2 weeks. Then check the coloration of the 2 layers. You will be amazed with how dirty the poly filter is while the normal cotton remains largely white even though it is on the top layer. I attribute this to the organic waste being absorbed by the polyfilter causing it to turn dark brown. These days, I use poly filter as an emergency kit though and left my MCE does all the hard work. Hey hi Andy. No I am not using 28g HQI. My tank is a 1.5ft cube custom made with no sump. Just a Deltec MCE 600 HOB skimmer. - You do not need a heater for our climate in Singapore. - I strongly advise against getting the 28g HQI. A lot of heat can be trapped within the closed canopy concept as it is using MH. - If you are using a chiller, yes you do not need a fan blowing at the tank. (if you are referring to the fans in the 28g HQI canopy, then that has always got to remain switched up when your lights are on) My suggestion: Go to iwarna, they have the 1.5 ft cube tank (from DE-lighting) on display there. Reborn also has a new cube tank on sale recently. you might want to check with them too. 2 feet is a good size. For a beginner, it is always better to have a sump as the increase in water volume also increases stability. Check out Digibee Tank thread too... his is a 2 feet cube tank with sump. The 1st few pages has his tank set up pics. He's a nice guy. PM him and he can advise you too.

Prob nudis eggs hatched. Either remove them and redip or just get a yellow or six line wrasse. But try not to feed the yellow wrasse so much. They may get lazy and wait for your food instead of clearing the nudis. I suspect my splendid clear nudis too... but cannot be sure....
