  1. Terryz, Lemon Thanks for the heads-up. I have kept a juvenile queen before and they do not attack the corals at that age. more destructive as they grow older of course. also understand the part about stressing the fish and stunting their growth. That being said, same goes for tangs being in a nano.... not recommended but not to say it cannot be done... just gotta let them go when the time comes.... I always believe text book stuff are a guide, sometimes there might be exceptions. I might be wrong or I could be very wrong but guess that is the challenge that I enjoy in maintaining a nano. Sorry I know I am kinda stubborn. but will give it due consideration and do more research on success stories. I recall coming across a couple of folks who manage to keep them well in a nano.
  2. you obvious did tell someone.. haha....... I caught my yellow wrasse using a plastic box in open water... he is too greedy for food... haha ... but mine is easier cause my tank is not as deep as yours. maybe you want to take note where he digs into the sand at night. then get a box/ net and scoop up the whole lot.
  3. Kiko, you are still watching BPL next year right? meaning you have mio tv? try to get stay with the same service provider for BB, mobile and cable tv. you get greater savings this way. example: My 2 mobile phones has a 20% discount because I have the mio tv and internet connection from Singtel. If you are thinking of just mobile, then Singtel and Starhub are pretty similar. each time you switch, they offer you an additional $100 discount on handsets. So just go the the best deal. BTW, if you are on broadband, try giving them a call and let them know you wish to terminate. To retain you, Starhub is even willing to give you a 30% discount on the monthly subscription. (happened to me) So you can try and see if you can get the discount. 30% is a lot....

  10. Lemon, I went to read up on Onyx.. yeah...... Those that have black patches that links the 3 white strips are called black Onyx clowns. so the female one that I have is one. but the male one is linked on one side but not the other. I am wondering if the black patch will expand as time goes by. This clown is really nice as there is a good black patch, the fins tail + head = orange , the stripes are pure white.... tri colour that makes it really outstanding!
  11. new additions from one of my favorite LFS in the east.... So far, they are more worth spending on than $90 zoas or $130 gonios from "you-know-where" LFS
  12. very nice pics bro. Are those red ocellaris?

  15. just another update: went RB & GO with a band of brothers (Mossrope, Karlyau, AhSiang) today.... Livestock that I noticed that were quite nice were: - black ocellaris - mini yellowhead jawfish.... soooooo cute....m only about 1 inch - 1.5 inch. and they had the neon goby that I wanted. Grabbed one. There's not much fishes there btw, incase if you are thinking of going there. *moss, for the teh tarik.... yummy!!!!
  16. hey Gerard.... I went to get a set of PL light instead today. Total 24W. seems quite bright.... Will power it up later and see how it goes.
  17. seems like you might be right whq. it has opened slightly more but nowhere near the 2.5 inch length. Prob only 1 ccm. Hopefully tml will be better.

  19. nice scape Bino! ** remind me of the IR at marina too... hehe..... ** show hand!!!! When did you get that splendid?? did not know. hey when you have spare frags of the purple hornet, let me know. Trying to get my hand on some.
  20. 91, I have tried to identify my zoas for logging purpose but give up after identifying several ..... I have about 40+ different type of zoas in my tank.... cannot imagine how long its going to take me..... yeah sometimes it is easy to communicate among reefers/ friends when you know the name... give you a better idea of the value too.... example: sunflower zoas, sunkists..... I think these fall into the easy to identify category.... which you should know when you have them. But for those common and unknown ones... I just let forget about IDing them. Good luck bro. Sorry I cannot help on the 2 u have posted.
  21. I bought just 1 and he is doing very well. But last friday, I heard from a couple of reefers that there is an element of luck involve.
  22. lol.. too complicated.... I have kept a yellow wrasse for 3 - 4 weeks without any sandbed .... he was fine.
  23. hmmm something is wrong with the tank.... the gonio is not opening .... gotta test the water tml.
