The goat farm feeding area is closed to public already right? Went there 2 times early this year but both times closed. I think they have stopped letting public get to close to the animals.

patience is the key Peihao Don't rush hor. When you get your tank, just cycle it properly. Even when it is cycled, try not to go to LFS and buy all you can afford. Play the game slow. Just treat it like a marathon and you will enjoy success more. Who knows, your tank might even start cycling earlier than mine Still waiting for my reefpack

live sand ==> cycling time shorter but cost much more. there is a poll on salt. maybe you wanna check it out.

How many more pieces of rocks are u going to get? If only a few pcs, shld be alright. Try getting cured ones from reefers near u or lfs nearby. Dose bacteria lor. I think shld be fine but yeah if want to be 100%, then cycle them separately.

decided to change the colour of the MH chassis. From this.... TO this ..... Currently waiting for paint to dry.

got a 2nd 150W Giesemann Nova MH. hmmm dun realy like the colour but it was at a knock down price which i cannot resist. The hanging kit is rusty and so are some of the screws. The new hanging kit

k.update: secured the wall brackets

Trying to calculate the lowest point so that my MH power cable can follow the hanging line to the bracket to along the wall so that it will look neater instead of cutting across to the back to the wall. hmm.... let me make some allowance. I think i will set it 8 inch from surface and 8 inch from bracket. that shld be good.

btw my Mh is the giesemann nova, in case that makes any diff

Need a super duper quick answer. (i am a nooby with MH) How high should my MH be from the water surface. Tank is 1.5 ft deep. Mh = 150W 20k bulb. About to drill hole in 10 mins

so fierce Comy lol. Hey Deimos, Suggest you try to change water more regularly (maybe 20%) in this initial few weeks. Pls do not stock anymore fishes. Remove the bio rings. Minimal feeding only once or twice a day max. FYI, Cycling a tank takes about 1 month. and fishes are gradually introduce into the tank. not 5 - 6 at 1 shot. introduce the more peaceful fishes 1st. damsels are hooligans Yeah I am just repeating what Comycus is saying ...hehe
