  1. Hey Duncan, nice to see you back lol Its an aquarium system. See my url above. It comes with a cabinet, sump, skimmer, LED lighting. Nice, neat tank but a bit pricey.
  2. Wah .... I thought of opening my house as a gathering point for west reefers.... hmmmm now how to rethink...... lol
  3. lol nope... it is be kept a secret till I step into the grave. Else I ... will be in the grave much much earlier... wahahahaha
  4. Ummm Thanks bro. Think I need the deep heat now. Backache already. Anyway the story with the MH is somehow the paint never quite dry even after going under the sun for 3 days! maybe it is the nature of heat resistant paint. Hard to dry. there were already several thumbprints on it and I was decided to strip all the paint and respray using another type of heat resistant spray. Barely started, my wife walked passed and said... haiz, so troublesome for what, get a new one lah..... so that's how I ended up with a new Nova. )
  5. Good suggestions... some gathering of sort will be niceeven for small grp. Can invite some of the sponsors to come down for a short talk etc. or fellow reefers on LED, cost implications, frags exchange prog, learn how to frag, meet the mods, view fellow reefers tank etc etc and group outing to LFS of course
  6. Peter and Comy are very happy with their mce 600
  7. This was my 6 footer. Missed having large tank.
  8. Peihao83 This is the photo of the crabs & mantis that I flush out of my rocks in my previous tank when setting up. If you are getting LR from LFS especially non cured ones, you can get rid of crabs and pest in them by 1. soaking them in extreme salinity or 2. leave the rocks in the open air. The crabs and pest will leave the rock to breathe. This might take .5 day - 1 day. You will need to occasionally spray saltwater over the rocks If you are getting from reefers, I would suggest you ignore the above mentioned.
  9. Yay... Tunze Reefpack is finally here and should be delivered tomorrow. Finally after > 1 month of waiting...... Meanwhile, I managed to dig out some of my old tanks shots.
  10. Actually I find that it is okay to post his queries regardless. He could have read up already on some articles and would like to interact more by asking. Different ppl learn things diff ways. Personally I find it a daunting task search through the entire forum and read through 20 pages of response on a thread dating from 2003 to today on what type of salt to use. Some people might say that it is laziness and I do admit it is partially just that. But by posting question, it does cut short the learning curve but hearing from the current batch of reefers share their view. This forum is basically meant for interaction and it also helps to bond fellow reefers. Sometimes, he might know the answer already but just wanted to seek a confirmation, sometimes it could be he is confused by the various opinions. If you do not have time to respond to his repetitive question, then skip this thread. It does not eat up that much bandwidth. If you would like to make it easier for fellow reefer to learn, then contribute to this thread. I have spoken to TS before and he has read up quite a lot already. Here is someone who has taken a keen interest in reef keeping. Spend quite a huge sum of $$ getting a 5 ft, skimmer, container to hold his SW even before his tank arrival etc..... I think we should encourage him more to post his doubts. It is not like he ask a question today and 4 weeks later, he still ask the same question. He has progressed in his tank setup and I am sure he is thankful to those here that has helped him along the way. Who knows... a couple of years later, he could be helping others. For all you know, this thread could be informative for beginners who do not like to post. Just my thoughts.
  11. title states 6025. message states 6024. ... confused.......
  12. ah hahahaha...... Viamingi sobbing now already .....
  13. nice. Good to know that sanity persists in this crazy economic conditions. Personally I prefer getting rocks from reefers here.
  14. $15 per kg?? WOW normal live rocks should be about $8/kg from LFS. missed the good old days where they were $4/kg
  15. Upzzz for your sale bro. colourful cabinet
  16. you all damn good..... I have no clue he was talking about that.....
  17. what tank set, what $50, what tok you? Lost......
  18. I think they might do delivery if you are getting a few packs. go confirm with them.
  19. My tank not running yet..... how many times must i tell you LOL. I have a box of leftover ME salt from my previous tank. kept in the storeroom for donkey years already. I remember that they dissolves quite easily. I might be wrong hor... just let the bros correct me if I am. Actually I think all the reputable salt about the same especially if you are going to dose additives / trace elements. (I know by saying this, you will go around asking.... what additives should i get arh??? Hehehe) just make sure you get those salt that dissolves easily. But you are quite an interesting character. I remember I start my tank 20 years ago, LFS sell me what salt, I blur blur just buy. Nvr check so much... Of course that time dun have SRC. But it is good that you ask, show that you care. So keep firing away.... Maybe Mod can pinned this up in starters forum. All newbies can read through this as a startup guide. hehe.

  22. BTW. I used ME salt in the past. served me well. dissolves easily.
