woohooo... nice big tank coming....... at work, they say you need to know how to manage your boss. at home, it is the same, need to know how to manage your spouse I think she is ok with this hobby as long as 1) I do not neglect all the issues in the house (bills, broken stuff, housekeeping) 2) activities for the family takes top priority - outings, swimming, visiting relatives, children's enrichment prog. etc 3) work on tank only when children are alseep at night. 4) Be hyper sensitive to her feelings, frustrations... show more care & concern. give her a bit more attention 5) Keep storeroom tidy and house clean of salt sprays. 6) maintain regular exercise regime. 7) Do not let her know my reef expenditures. 8)..... and i can go on and on and on and on..................and on................on......................o....n ................. but hmmm she is quite fine with it lah. just gotta be careful not to be too obsessed - kindda difficult sometimes. Reefing as a single, as a dating single, as a just married, as a married veteran with kids, as a married veteran with kids...... so much difference.....

Not sure if this is a good suggestion - buy 3 -4 small ones. then dump all into the tank together. 2 is bad cause the aggressor will always target the other fish. With 3-4, the aggressor take turn to bully the other 2 - 3 fish. Then after a few days, trap and sell off the other aggressor and another fish or keep the all of them. I once introduce 3 purple tang. 1 did not make it. The other 2 survived.

Not the size lah, its the species. Just that maybe this time round, the blue face is bigger and is an open target. So the focus is on him. poor fella. Even if you get a smaller one next time, it will be targeted. Maybe if you add in a couple of angels all at once, that might work. I used to have emperor, queen, asfer, blue face, Koran, majestic and some tangs in my 6 ft. they got on okay cause I added quite a number at one time and changed the rockscape - so every fish was trying to re-establish their territory and it was a level playing field.

Sorry to hear his demise. try not to get another angel lah. high chance will kenna whack again even if you introduce him correctly. I once bought a >$100 Queen Angel (small one about 2 inch).... put inside the tank, 30 mins later died already.... gotta sucked into a pump...... sob sob.... Hope this make you feel better

question from a nooby who has never gel corals/ rocks before. 1) How do you do this? leave the rocks in the tank and use your fingers to apply the gel or do you need to take the rocks out of the tank. 2) If you need to remove the rocks from the tank, do you need to wait for the epoxy to dry 1st? Sorry for the silly questions and thanks for sharing Siang.

kenna sai ..... shld have say so earlier so i did not have to type so much lol. anyway when you introduce Blue face back into the main tank after his recovery, rearrange the rockwork a little to confuse the old birds in the tank. PS Blue face and Emperor are my favorite angels.
