  1. thanks peter. 1st time i see these ...lol so cute.
  2. No the lightset is only 40cm in length. I do not have the lightset yet. Cannot decide if I should get it this morning. BTW, the photos of the LEDs are from the web. not the actual set we tested this morning. MP10 - take video of it on a coral-less tank? how to see the effect...hmmm
  3. I had an emperor that went the full cycle from juvenile to adult. those are on the change should be able to morph as well I guess. dun see why not.
  4. surprise surprise: Pricing taken from http://www.delightings.com/index.cfm?GPID=30 LED-G1-180-60W: SGD248 LED-G1-400-110W: SGD450 LED-G1-400-160W: SGD655 LED-G1-400-180W: SGD785 Welcome to the new generation of affordable LED lights. These are engineered and manufactured from China. Hence the cheaper cost. But looking at the workmanship, you will be impressed with the quality. In addition, this lightset comes with 18 months warranty! Comparing with eco lamps that uses 1W LED, these are substantially cheaper and provides a longer warranty period. Overall if you can use this light for 3 years, the savings over changing of MH bulbs is already 70% of the cost of the LED lights. Not to mention the electrical savings over the MH and chiller. Oops.... talk too much, how am i suppose to sell my MH now...... *sob sob
  5. I do not have the lightset yet. Dr Evil delivering this Saturday. But we did place it over the tank just now and did a PAR test. The PAR rating of my MH at the height I would hang it (approx 8 - 10 inch above water level) is the same as the LED light installed about 5 inch above water level. So the 110 LED is really almost equivalent to a 150W MH. The other thing I notice is that using the LED light, the spread across the tank / rocks is more uniform. using MH has more uneven spots / shadow casting. MH definitely has more shimmering even on the rocks. I only notice the shimmering on the sandbed when using the LED. Overall, the LED provides a pleasing oceanic blue tone to the tank. I saw comments that the 160W is less bluish - this could be due to the 2x 30W white light.
  6. The light comes with temp monitor. There are some safety feature incorporated. The power will cutoff if temp gets too hot or if the fan fails. there is also a timer to control the white lights and blue lights. unfortunately you are unable to dim the lights.
  7. The LEDs On the 110W model, there are 18x 3W whites and another 18x 3W blues. i believe they are using 120 deg optics. This pic shows the 160W model which has 14x 3W white LED (4 less than the 110W), 18x 3W blue (same no.) and 2 additional 30W white LED. The square in the pic is the 30W LED.
  8. The heatsink. This heatsink is not exposed. It is housed in the aluminium black casing. There are 2x 3 inch fans cooling it. We switch on the unit for about 20 mins. there was very very minimum heat build up in the casing.
  9. The is the only cable that connect from the driver. dislike: the connectors will definitely rust over time. Users will need to protect this metallic part.
  10. hey bro. seriously if you are using McAfee now and got hit by that malware, doesn't that imply something?
  11. The light comes with an L bracket to clip onto rimless tanks.
  12. Got to test out a new LED light today - Thanks to Dr Evil. Maxspect LED
  13. yeah ... maybe wait a 2 more weeks and see if the bubbles subside.
  14. I think alll you can do is to throw in a variety of food and hope for the best. Better to try to purchase feeding ones in future. Maybe other bros with regals can advise.
  15. was thinking of that. maybe pop in a small piece of poly filter there. hehe
  16. think you got affected by a malware. I had a virus once which force me to reboot whenever I get connected to the internet. PS: I am not IT pro hor.... so i might be very very wrong...
  17. Leaking from the bottom. See the pic above? the dots beside the maroon are the bubble. The black box is the bottom of the skimmer.
  18. Skimmer Collection Cup. K these Tunze reefpack is really water level sensitive. at the moment, I am trying to top up water 2x a day to keep the level consistent. Would prefer to do without an ATO if I can.
  19. The micro bubbles from my skimmer It shld have run in already but still leaking so many bubbles out. Gotta find a way to reduce these.
  20. installed a deflector on the return from my chiller. This will cause more surface agitation... ==> more oxygen ==> higher PH
  21. reading as of 15 mins ago. I need to velco these monitors to my cabinet. PH was 7.9 a couple of days back. manage to raise it to 8.1 Will continue to try to hit 8.2
