  2. I used to spend a couple of dollars to run a long long hose direct to my tank. Else back will break carrying so many pails of water. I guess you will be sleeping late tonight!
  3. Good to see you with your tank after posting 80 questions wahahahahaha Just kidding - cannot help it. The real fun begins now..... Enjoy!
  4. Woohooooo grats Chris. finally its here. Happy heh? The rocks here yet?
  5. logically speaking I think LED gives out better brightness uniformity as you have multiple points of light point downwards. MH will poorer PAR away from the central zone. Maxspect has a PAR reading for various depth and area i think but i dunno know to read them. you can check that out.
  6. Its like ikan bilis but they are white in colour and looks much cleaner. "ying yu" ((in chinese) you can find them at NTUC, wetmarket
  7. OK Comycus I have more confidence since exchanging a couple of emails with the Maxspect folks. They seem to know what they are doing and response turnaround is on the same day itself. I am getting the 110W tonight and if you are interested, can always pop over my place tml to take a look. very keen to see the effect of these lights. cheers!
  8. i dunno the calculation but based on actual par reading, it is equivalent. In fact, when we did the PAR test, Dr eVil and I forgot to remove the tinted green coated plastic film on the light so the LED transmission was at an disadvantage. So this LED lightset should be stronger than my 3 weeks old 150W MH. Bear in mind that I am using a 20 k bulb though.
  9. response from maxspect : The 3w LEDs are driven at 650mA, only the 30w LEDs(in 160w,180w model) are driven at 1.05A.
  10. wow very nice....... tempting..... Hey I noticed something today... strange.... my purple firefish is more aggressive and is attacking my maroon clown whenever it gets close. ...... 1st time i see firefish so fierce.....
  11. Oh that spacer. My tank thickness is sufficient to do without that.
  12. just red and no light red and no light. the only mode it can go to is feed mode and calibration mode. => so prop is not jammed. I have also taken wet side to clean already. no obstruction.
  13. Oh, if it is once a week, i think I can still manage that during maintenance. Let me go and read more about these corals ......
  14. Hi all Vortech users, My MP10 has stalled. The red light is flashing. The propellor is not moving I have resetted the pump, calibrated it .... but each time I on the pump, the mp10 will function only about 4 sec then the red light will flash, after another 3 sec, it will return to normal operation for 4 sec and then another few seconds later, it will stop permanently with the red light flashing. Has anyone encountered this before? rgds Jacky
  15. no I did not add another pump. I connected the output of my reefpack cleaner to the chiller directly.
  16. I think chengai has more "waterproof" capabilities, thus the price difference. That is why some of the outdoor platform are made of chengai. Structural wise, both can support the tank.
  17. wow quite a lot. rescape already take photo hor...
  18. If you have been keeping these fishes for some time already and they are doing fine, then they should be ok. What is your nitrate level now? Removing the pygmy angels will not help much anyway - unless if you are thinking of replacing them with other fishes. a picture will be nice. curious about your tank.
  19. Drydiver - biohome info http://bcaquatics.com/biohome.aspx cheers!
  20. YAY kiko! no die offs means you already have some LS in your tank? what are they? Be a bit more discipline with WC in the beginning few months. cheers!
