Tank Condition Update: (need advise!) PH: has gone up by another 0.5 to 8.31 This should be due to the algae boom and reduction of CO2 Livestock: All 4 fishes are still doing well. The ocellaris seemed to have got through the ordeal and seemed much healthier now. I still see the maroon clown picking on him though. the firefish, blenny has put on weight too. mushies: most of them have expanded by another 20 - 30% since I last saw them The red mushrooms have almost covered the rock already. Let's hope they continue to boom. The only thing is that I noticed that they colour has faded somewhat. These are the frags that I have got ready for some of the reefers here. But the color has darkened so much. Is it due to insufficient light or too much light? the others

Kiko You need to dose carbonate to raise alkalinity, that will raise PH. Or you can also use PH buffer. If the situation occurs when an hour after you buff and the PH drops back to original level always, then it could be that your magnesium level is too low. Calcium, magnesium and alkalinity are all co-related. Go read up a little. quite interesting. I have raised mine from 7.9 to 8.2 too early in the early stages of my tank. There is an algae boom now and the PH is 8.3

Update Day 2: The mushies have expanded a little more today, especially the red ones. Hopefully by the time I come back next week, they would have boomed to 2x their size. I also realized the macro algae has turned greener today. It was pale translucent yesterday. (Sorry arh... so boring ... same few corals ... paiseh ) The PH has suddenly shot up to 8.26 the highest i have seem. One of the reason could be due to the algae growth. Just pondering if the addition of corals could have contributed to the increase in PH too? I hate to get snails to tackle the algae growth. hopefully the bicolour blenny does some overtime work. can any other fishes help besides tang? The ocellaris is doing much better today. swimming normally. Hope he stays that way. Gave me a fright the other day. Most of his fins has regenerated. They call him the common clown but he will always be special in our family's heart Thus far, what I can say is that i am very happy with the LED. The colour seems very well balance and the light is very well distributed. It is as bright as my 150W MH minus all the heat. Last but not least, Vico, this FTS with your light is specially taken for you

things to consider. You are putting this tank inside your bedroom. It is quiet but inevitably you will hear humming noise from the chiller and prob from your skimmer too. Sometimes, you might also hear humming sound resonated from the cabinet with the door closed. If you are a light sleeper, maybe you would like to ponder about that. If you sleep like a dead dog, then ignore the above.

I think insufficient. you prob need 2 MH. why don't you contact Razali from DElighting. He will be able to advise you.

If you wall links to the outside room, then can drill a wall and let your pipe run through the wall. Then house all eqpt in the cabinet outside hehe.....

Agree, don't try to make everything dimension so tight. leave some buffer. Why don't consider keeping skimmer and FR outside of sump? reason is because the sump will be dirty over time and it is difficult to clean the skimmers / eqpt & sump later. Keeping skimmer outside also preserves the external condition of the eqpt.

... Newbies beware..... This guy is really a bad influence!!!!!
