  1. I bought this but have not used it yet. not sure if they are any good. Ray has one that he advised to avoid. I hope it is not the one i bought. ** nervous**
  2. Yeah their liverocks are quite nice. Was there yesterday but most of them are quite huge pieces - not suitable for your tank. unless I miss out some.
  3. lol good incentive not to put on too much weight else you cannot get to your bed
  4. Did a thorough water test today. salinity 1.025 PH is still swinging from 8.0 - 8.45 (it used to be fluctuate only between 8.1 - 8.3) KH = 7. will need to diligiently increase this to 10 in hope that PH will be more stable. ammonia 0 nitrite 0 phosphate - between 0 - 0.5 I really cannot differentiate the colour. nitrate 10ppm. Strange.. where is this coming from. So lightly stocked. Calcium 420 - great. Will try to increase this to approx 450. Magnesium only 1100. I have not been adding mg because I did not have the tester. Now I can proceed and value should increase over the next 2 weeks. Question: I have seen PH buffers. Are these added to hold PH at a constant level? Will they help in my situation?
  5. His tank a bit tricky. it is potentially just a 14inch cube after placing in the reefpack. Then you still have the wavemakers. either the articfical rock or if not, epoxy some nice small pieces to from arcs, plateaus , caves,... can model after the articial rocks. quite nice. My tank has 10 pcs of liverocks inside.
  6. Today's roll call: I can hear the snapping sound from the pistol, so he is still there. For the G goby, I need to hunt for him. Found him after 15 mins.
  7. The xenias are doing ok in my tank now. But i think they are not fully extended yet.
  8. maybe get just 1 head or 2 head type and do minimal feeding each time but more frequent (3 times a week) should be okay. Why not get a simple airstone skimmer? having one is better than none.
  9. Hi Guys We have a mini informal gathering on the 13th Dec. (I got the month right this time ) Prob meet up at one of the MacD in the west and head off to 2 - 3 LFS. Time : approx 10:30am Pls feel free to drop me a PM if you are keen.
  10. Think there is a north, east west list. but not as updated as this one. hehe you are more than free to join us.
  11. I fill it up to the brim and did a water leak test. after that just casually wash the tank with my hands using the water in it.
  12. 1 footer can be very nice too. Have to be a bit more hardworking to look for small frags. get more variety of species. with nice scaping and paying attention to details, you will have an envious tank. PS: Marine Life usually has very cute little gobies/ fishes. look for small peaceful ones.
  13. That's a huge hitchhiker. glad you got it out.
  14. He has most of the fishes that I want minus the tangs.
  15. Yah he's quite ok. Got my CR, FR, and skimmer from him when I started my previous tank.
  16. Nice. I wanted to get from him too but he could not bother responding to my emails.
  17. hehe now my tank really has already a lot of white pods already. no matter how much pods you have, they have be decimated very fast once the mandarin comes in. So end up still will be dosing 5 ml each day for my small tank.
  18. my blenny residing with Peter already. He started nipping at my SPS. (he = the bicolour blenny, not Peter) I have 2 gobies in my tank yah. But there are sufficient pods for the Griesinggeri Goby and my purple firefish takes in pellets. so not neccessary to feed them with these now. Also I am trying to keep my tank parameters as stable as possible these few days.
  19. have not read the instructions yet but I guess it will be like dosing 5 ml each day or some like that.
