Cool. As long as your are happy with Chemi Pure and it works for you. The Nutrafin is for bacterial dosing. Same as several other products. I am using Brightwell MB 7.

Poh, interesting to have algae scrubber in the IOS. Keep us posted on how it goes. some queries regarding the medias you are using 1) Charcoal : its carbon right? 2) Anti nitrate and prostate (phosphate?) wool - what is this? you have pics? ( my guess is polyfilter??) 3) Chemi Pure - I have used this in the past... personally I did not particularly like it. It is activated carbon plus some ion exchange resins. If I recall correctly, the resins get depleted very fast within a few days. A bag of this does not last a few months as what they indicate. Perhaps just 2 weeks in my experience. The Chemi Pure Elite contains additional Ferric Iron Oxide to assist with removal of phosphate/ silicate. But imho, I think using good quality carbon and GFO will be more effective than using chemi pure. Just my 2 cents worth. Perhaps other bros who have used chemipure can chime in.

Update : Planning to hang my carbon and PO4 filter bags in my main tank instead. Will add another 8 tablespoon of GFO and replace the carbon tonight. Will monitor the readings tomorrow.

keke.. ok... well Qiang has a point too.. your lighting also plays a part I think the rocks probably leech lots of phosphate too. My DI water - has zero (undetectable) PO4. I mix the D&D salt mix and placed the rocks in. The PO4 went up to 0.57 ppm..... after a couple of days. Either the salt mix contains phosphate or the small handful of rock leeched them.... wonder what is your PO4 level

looks awesome.. very nicely built

From : http://reefbuilders....let/#more-45774 Posted on August 3rd, 2011 by Jake Adams The LPS Coral Pellet from New Era Aquaculture is a new coral food for target feeding of large polyp stony corals. The New Era LPS Coral Pellet will cost about the same as the marine pellet, about $15 for a 150g container which is considerably cheaper than $25 for 100 ml of Fauna Marin's LPS coral pellet. The New Era LPS Coral Pellet is not much different from the the New Era Marine Pellet, it is cold-extruded, soft and mashable into larger sizes, but it does include a few tweaks to optimize the coral feeding process. Certain Amino Acids have been added to the New Era LPS Coral Pellet to elicit a stronger feeding response from corals, stimulating polyps into feeding mode and getting the feeding tentacles to emerge so that the coral can take the food in the first place. Additionally, the calcium content of the New Era LPS Coral Pellet is higher than the marine pellet due to the addition of shrimp shell powder. It is not clear whether corals can uptake extra calcium gastronomically but a little calcium bump in the food couldn't hurt. The New Era Aquaculture LPS Coral Pellet has only experienced a soft release with certain UK dealers and Aqua Digital in Canada receiving one of the initial batches of the new food.

I helped my friend scape the other day. Basically stack the rocks, then used a tube of bsi gel underwater to secure the joints. Literally squeezing the tube in the water and bonding the joints. Nice handy product. I also like the idea of having smaller qty in mini tubes - as I use them very infrequently. I have never tried CG though. Sent from my iPad2 using Tapatalk

Looks good bro. When u have more rocks and scape it sloping downwards to the front, it ill look very nice. Ps: why is the suns placed so high up? They do not need light. Sent from my iPad2 using Tapatalk

Not sure if my tank evaporation is due to the skimmer but yeah I need to top up every alternate day. About 500 ml each time. Sent from my iPad2 using Tapatalk

Gonna be busy with mahjong today. So did my PO4 test early. It dropped further and is at 0.32ppm. Geez this GFO thingy really works. I am very happy with the Hanna checker because it allows me to verify the effectiveness. The worst thing is to invest on something and being uncertain if it really helps. Think I will just drop more GFO over the next 2 days and get it within 0.075ppm ASAP. Then I can start working on my mg, ca and alk ..... Well as soon as I have got my test kit replaced! Thanks Sherman! Yeah it has been a long sabbatical. Good to see that u are still around too! You still have your tank? Sent from my iPad2 using Tapatalk

Uppz for you bro ...... If only my tank is ready ....... Sent from my iPad2 using Tapatalk

The refiilable cartridg should be about $10 each. you will need three. (one time cost) The resins cost $35. can last you about 9 -12 months for a nano. The carbon cost about $12. should last 12 months or more. I am just guesstimating..... going check with Ken from Madpetz. Very friendly guy. For location, go check out Madpetz thread in the forum. It is stated there and the opening hrs too. think its closed on Mon and Tues.

Nice setup Sunny. Any update on the tank?

Nice tank bro. That fish is called skunk dottyback if I am not wrong. A fiesty little fellow. LCK brings Royal Gramma in quite often. 2 red notes each but I do not think you can add that it anymore. Good job on modding the skimmer into the IOS.
