  1. K that's it for tonight. Have a full day meeting tomorrow from 8 am. Over the next 2 days, I plan to 1) check the phosphate level 2) install the PH monitor 3) Calibrate both the PH and ORP monitors 4) Test the alk, Mg and Ca level 5) Add the required amount of additives to bump them straight to Mg : 1450ppm, Ca : 450 ppm, dKH : 12
  2. The inside and well written instructions
  3. Now that my D&D test kit is returned. I went to purchase the TM Ca/ Mg combo test kits.
  4. My Mg additive is running low. Bought a new one. Trying Brightwell Aquatic. One of the thing I like about the cap is the it has a well designed drip prevention groove.
  5. Dig out more goodies from the Storeroom..... These additives has been with me for approx 1.5 - 2 yrs now. Anyone knows if they expire?
  6. After the red, comes the blue..... PH Probe....collected from ML
  7. Kudos to Henry.... Conditioning the ORP probe works. After getting the probe to stabilize in fresh water for a day, I shifted it to the tank. REading is stable now. phew...... Waiting to see how much it can rise to.... currently only 160.
  8. not the high class ones..... I will get the easy ones and keep LPS 1st for a year .
  9. I drift in singapore... you drift until Japan liao...... shld have asked you to get for me those mini chocolate sweet at the airport..... yum yum....
  10. Bro hafezha Iwarna, Delights, MarineLife and several of the sponsors are all good reputable LFS. You can go get a quote from each of them and talk to them. Talking to more vendors and more reefers will give you more insight from different perspective. Take your time. Also do more research on the various eqpt, cost and the livestock that you plan to keep. Happy hunting. cheers!
  11. Where did u go and what did you get?
  12. K Karl, let's meet up next week? Will pm/ SMS u. Sent from my iPad2 using Tapatalk
  13. Hi all Looking to sell my AI set. (CREE XP-G LEDs - White, Blue, Royal Blue) Looking at $700. Used less than 1 year. Features: Intensity is adjustable from 0 to 100%. Color is adjustable from warm white (approximately 6500K) to deep blue (greater than 20000K). Two control settings: Automatic and Manual. In Automatic Mode the sun rises and falls at pre-determined times and the fixture automatically transitions into the corresponding moon cycle for the duration of the 24-hour period. In Manual Mode the light may be set to the desired intensity and color and turned on-off manually. Moon intensity automatically adjusts to follow the actual lunar cycle of ~29 day. Fixture is cooled by blowing air across heat sinks located above each bank of LED lamps preventing salt, moisture, dust and dirt from entering the fixture and harming the LED lamps and other internal components. 100V - 240V Universal Power Supply allows fixture to be used on a wide variety of power sources. Seamless integration with GHL ProFiLux and Digital Aquatics ReefKeeper Elite controllers. Superior Performance Capable of producing as much light as a 400W metal halide system. Save Energy Up to 50% versus comparable metal halide system. Low Heat Generates a fraction of the heat of a comparable metal halide system. Long Lamp Life Up to 10 years. Multi-Functional - Sunrise, daylight, sunset and lunar light cycles all included. Upgradeable - Modular design allows end user to increase the length of the fixture or to install the latest in LED lamp technology.//
  14. Installed my pinpoint probe today. The reading started from 100. Then I went out for breakfast and came back. The reading started fluctuating from 260 to 310 non-stop. Not sure if it is a probe issue or monitor issue. Henry advised to placed the probe back into the tiny probe bottle provided with freshwater and let it settle for 1 day. I did just that and in the mean time also monitored the value. The ORP is dropping gradually from 260 to 230 after 3 - 4 hrs. Hopefully my monitor is ok....
  15. Hi Sherman. Yeah I got it from there. The checkers are S$81 each. Phosphorus reagents are S$12.50 while Alkalinity Phosphorus reagents are S$13.50. All prices before GST. Cheers
  16. Prob some montis and radioactive 1st.
  17. ouch? Kena poke by his SPS??? Lol Uppz... Can accommodate a few more as some will drop out from past experience... Sent from my iPad2 using Tapatalk
  18. hmm those latex gloves might work too..... those used in hospital? thanks Resser ! Go get your Hannas when your tank is ready !!!! I am going to build a new one too so please share with me your findings ** Siang, I need those latex gloves
  19. Did my PO4 test just. 3rd Aug : PO4 = 0.502 ppm 4th Aug : PO4 = 0.502 ppm, added 4 tablespoon of High Capacity GFO in a filterbag and placed into my MCE 600. 5th Aug : PO4 = 0.374 ppm 6th Aug : PO4 = 0.350 ppm 7th Aug : Added 8 tablespoon of HC GRO 8th Aug : PO4 = 0.285 ppm Looking forward to bringing it below 0.1 ppm.
  20. Was intending to use the D&D test kit to compare against the Hanna's but unfortunately I have returned it. Anyone has Alk tester to loan ? Or maybe I can bring this to Cedric place next week so you can have a look at it together with the Phosphorus tester. Just did my test and my Alkalinity is at 115 ppm = 6.496 Dkh. Rather low. Let's hope the Ca and Mg level is much higher. BTW, I used Brightwell Salt. Will be getting the Tropic Marine Ca / Mg Tester on Wednesday so will just do a check and buff these up to the right level before I start stocking. The Alk is really much easier than the phosphorus checker. - liquid reagent. just invert curvette 5 times. no need to twirl for 2 mins to ensure powder dissolves totally - almost instant result. Phosphorus have to wait for 3 mins. Alkalinity result is almost instant. Simply love it !
  21. If you have missed the earlier posting on the pictorial step by step on how to use the Alkalinity checker, you can check and
  22. lol.....lets hope you do not get meet any of them......
  23. Oh my goodness...... 4 feet !
  24. 10ml Syringe The curvettes require 10 ml of tank water for each test. My syringe is 6 ml and I have to add 2x 5ml each time I do the test. Rather cumbersome. Bought a 10 ml syringe today. This will make things slight easier
