  1. no idea man. apparently not. but I am suspecting these pods foul up wht water quite a lot. SO I am very conservative with the dosage.
  2. thanks Comy & Fuel. I usually mix it and let it settle for an hr or so, then scoop just the top layer of water for wc usage. Those below with salt sediments are discarded. Not ideal but given the limited time, energy and space constraints that I have, I don't really have much of a choice.

  4. K. he had a very good sleep last night. more than 13 hrs!! I see him pecking on the rocks quite often but he seems to be losing weight. Maybe the processed pods isn't very nutritional. gotta speed up on my in-tank refugium project.
  5. Have you tried placing the tunze on the right side of the tank (about mid position) pointing to the cleaner module sruface skimmer. you can shift the cleaner module slightly outwards away from the back wall - this will help to reduce some of the current by trapping some waves between your cleaner and back wall. your cleaner pack will also have more effective surface skimming. Let it run for like 10 mins and see how it goes. The sand might start to shift a little along the sandbed in the beginning. This is normal. If it is slightly turbulent at the back wth gentle waves at the front, it is ok. If it still fail, maybe you need to go get a nano wavemaker liao.
  6. Hi tribe. Welcome to the reefing community. +1 to all the comments posted by the bros here. I am in your neighbourhood. CCK. rgds Jacky
  7. Peacemaker, Comy My PH now fluctuates between 7.75 - 8.15 Think I will just let it be. thanks for all the suggestions. I will slowly digest the information on the pods cultivation guide 1st and see whether this is really feasible. ================================= The silly mandarin fish. Did not see it the whole night. Went looking for him. Finally found his body in a small rock crevice. Looks so ugly & mouldy when he has all the slime over him when sleeping. Thought he's dead but his gills seemed to be moving. Hope to see up rise & shine tml.
  8. sure thing thomas. will let you know.
  9. petrel = vincent?? why is Petrel's post always so ambiguous. always tell a bit , dun tell a bit.....
  10. okay will go to the branch in marina square to take a lot. I've also just remembered that I still have the Tunze cleaner. If I can drop some chaetos inside, seal off the bottom so that water input will be only from the top and get an submissible light for the chaetos, that will work right?
  11. Peter, I come back to you midweek. Saw the pic of the filter. Trying to figure out where I can put it in my tank. If I dangle it in my my tank will be damn ugly.
  12. who do you not like about it? just curious.
  13. wanted to suggest that but somehow.... does not make sense to me leh. - might void warranty - cannot re-sell in future - might overcut the blade. maybe swop for a K nano? check the flowrate if koralia is alright.
  14. why don't you try putting the nanostream 1/4 from the top of the tank in the middle of the back panel. point it towards to the right / left side panel of the tank. scape your rocks in such a way that it blocks some of the current bouncing off the wall to break up the flow. in short, maybe just play around with the scape and positioning of the pump. Hard to suggest without seeing your scaping. the sand might get stirred a little initially but will settle down after some time. 6025 should be ok for your tank I think (but I have nvr tried one).
  15. bed time story for tonight. http://www.aims.gov.au/pages/research/hatc...ture-manual.pdf
  16. Peter: The box wil be too expensive by the time I ship here. easily 150 SGD approx. Let me check what is the cost of the acrylic 1st. I also have a spare pump which I want to re-use. Comy: ya right. need an acrylic box. Still need some light to penetrate for ; 1) chaeto growth 2) algae on the refugium wall can be scrub off as food for the copepods. 3) visibility if the pods population is growing maybe i will use black acrylics for the refugium box sides and bottom panel. The front will still be clear.
  17. dun wan lah... so ugly. Want to make a nice one & proper one and hang it at the back of my tank. most likely going for 12x5x8 inches. need to measure the space I have tonight when I get home. cons with beta box: - ugly - without pump, water is rather stagnant - to install pump, need to drill - tendency to crack the box. - small - width too big. Need to read more on cultivating pods.
  18. Have been looking at HOB refugiums. due to space constraints and for simplicity sake, I have decided to get a in tank HOB. The purpose of setting up this module in my tank is to cultivate pods and not to lower nitrate. Has anyone seen these selling in any LFS? http://www.cpraquatic.com/products/citr.html http://saltaquarium.about.com/od/refugiums...hitrefigium.htm comments?
  19. when you bought the lights, it does not come with the clip? If you want, you can take mine and use it 1st. (mine is unused and kept in storeroom) just ask Razali to pass me yours later.
  20. you have quite a level head. am sure your will prioritize properly. reefing is just a hobby. partner is for the rest of your lifetime
  21. not that i know of for clown gobies. i think their natural response is to hide back in their hideout.
