  2. Oh ya .. and 1 more input... my ORP is currently in the 550 range. I think I need to calibrate it soon... Usually not required for ORP momnitors but I prever to check what;s the true number....
  3. TOday has been a tiring day... Vistied GO and ML. Bought some blastos, frogspawn etc Came back and had to resintate my Artica 1/15hp chiller and Tunze mechnical cleaner pack (from Tunze reefpack 200).... Just when I am about done, realize one of the Eheim joint connector is faulty and leaking. Had to clear up the place $%@$^&#&# drop the corals into the tank and did not even bother to take pics..... will do so tml.... The other bad news is that the sump space (after consulting Henry) that I have is probably only 17 inch cube.... Sianzzzzzz, so smaill.....
  4. Hey hi Resser. Welcome Please feel free to drop by anytime.... Some of the sponsors do carry 100 micron socks or you can order from many of the establised online store based in USA. I am going to trial these options: 1) 50 / 100 micron combo. (100 in a 50 micron sock combination.) 2) 25 micron keep to see how clear the water can be with option 2. here are even 0.5 micron polyester socks available ! I think you can carry water around with those
  5. wonder if wrasses eats them... six line especially but they do get a little aggressive.
  6. Oh if so small, then I am not sure what they are.... are you able to scoop them up using a net or something? Just get rid of them then.
  7. who sell AI locally ?? Bought last July from USA direct. think the warranty is for 2 years.
  8. Your birthday too? 3rd person I know whose birthday is today. Happy Birthday bro !
  9. sure sound like fun. Yeah really not easy when you have family or need to focus on career. but forum / hobby is just like colleagues too.... people come and go.... and they come back k chat to you another day, Kui ! and keep those pics coming
  10. nice 2 decades. yeah all you guys are the hidden dragons..... sometimes I do wonder if I am putting myself up for ridicule for posting our ignorant thoughts... profile wise... haha... I nvr notice it. but one thing I do know is that reefing is more fun with buddies and like minded hobbyists sharing a thought / discussion. frag hence still hanging around here....
  11. Erh Siang is one year wiser today?? Happy hatchday bro !
  12. wow big plans. nice ! totally agree on the heat aspect from MH. not to mention that the chiller will kick in more often and hence generating more heat .... sounds like another SPS master.....
  13. My AquaIllumination most likely 5.5 inch by 12 inch. (lightset) with brackets, I can let it stand over 14 inch easily.
  14. hi Loong !! Hope all is well with you and your tank. you can PM Kanegan and Thairun to try your luck. Both stay around CCK area. cheers
  15. Thanks bro ! glass thickness... good point there.thanks. Yeah those were my concerns too. Cannot rmb if I need to leave 2 inch margin for the cabinet leg for each side or 2 inch in total for both sides. My back up plan is to do away with the ATO to cater more space for margin and use dosing pump for ATO instead.
  16. unfortunately, they do not come cheap. Approx $10 per head. small ones will come with approx 7 - 9 heads.
  17. complemented by T5s? the thing with MaxSpect is that the spectrum is rather "flat" and we are unable to tune the intensity of the blue over the white LEDs. Also unless if you ordered the CREE upgrades, the SemiLEDs that comes as factory default drops its PAR approx 15 - 20% each year. so if I recall correctly, by 3 - 4 year, the lightset has only approx 60 % of its original PAR value. I cannot remember the specific detail but generally something along this line. just something that might be good for you to be aware of and check it out if you are really going into SPS. But it has been 12 - 18 months, my info might be obselete
  18. Most likely bristleworm. scavengers. I think most reefers tend to leave it alone. It did kill my 2 baby clams though..... http://www.reefcorner.com/SpecimenSheets/bristleworm.htm
  19. which LED are you using? btw, just realised your tank is 1.5 ft width ... wow.... your scape does not look so narrow and gives a certain impression of depth .... well done !
  20. that will be nice too ... chiong arh.....!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Ok.. sump remake take III Might be still a little ambitious here for my 2x2x1.8 tank cabinet. Total dimension length and width = 22inch x 22 inch If need to cut down by a couple of inches, will then do away with the ATO and narrow down the frag compartment. thoughts? likely to work?
  22. hi YJ I am going to do an acrylic cover on top of the filter sock compartment. Not sure how everything would pan out if the sock is above the water level. would Water dripping down from the sock cause splashing even with sponge below? Will there also be higher risk of overspilling if the filter sock clog up? Think I will just play it safe and keep the filter sock below sump height... if sump overflows.... will definitely get it from my CO....
  23. Uppz for your sale bro.... Hwee's awesome GSP tank wall... - an eyeopener and one of a kind in SRC
  24. nice idea bro but Personally I prefer to have zoas cluster on a small little round rock. I feel that they look nice like a ball. then imagine have several of these zoas like ice cream scoop
  25. Hey jun, luke, thanks for all your great suggestions. I think u guys are right. Let me combine the 2 filter sock compartment and let it flow directly to the frag/ holding/ refugium area. Back to the drawing board.
