  1. yup. and also camouflage by my black backdrop.
  2. something like that. my whole back pannel will look black though. the socks and everything will be "hidden" black boxes/ crates.
  3. Hey Desi, do you still have the fine plastic mesh from hardware shops? I need a 30 cm x 40 cm dimension to spare? Jacky
  4. yes bro. but probably more longish like 1x10inch. small tank with small return lah.
  5. I am sewing the filter socks into probably 3 smaller pieces. so should be able to maintain rather easily.
  6. don't despair bro & sis. such incidents happen - non feeding fish. There is always an element of risk with a new purchase and more so for a non feeding specimen. hope he pull through though.
  7. yah... I am his office boy... running errands for him..... lol
  8. those who have not used it before, please trust me and get a bottle. You will not regret it and no, I do not make commission from promoting this product. I think I have given out like 20% of my bottle already ....keke.....
  9. I think they need to vaccum sealed it for the bacteria survival. and having individual vials is better than one large bottle cause that will expose the remaining solution to air. A lot of medication uses these sort of vials too to avoid contamination. good concept, I like it but just have to be careful.
  10. Justin, so fish food, coralrx sample, filter socks, monti frag. let me know if I miss out anything.
  11. yup. well except for the detritus in the bare bottom. looks ugly. I think I will put a thin layer of grade 1 live sand. But other than that, the water is very clear, glass free of algae. I am amazed at the water clarity after my latest restart. I guess the key to it is really frequent water changes (2x a week if possible). I am even floating henry's food & tons of liquid food for my corals. I have done away with phosphate removers and added more carbon instead. Think if I am using clean water source, I should not need phospate removers. I need to DIY a bracket to hold the customized filter sock and that should make my tank look even cleaner. a lot of work yet to be done.
  12. if I have a pico, I will use D&D epoxy. model a tree, then frag out star polyps or skin polyps and paste them on the tree branches.... will be nice with small fishes swimming round it
  13. Saw that you placed order with Peter on the other forum already. but if you need some urgently , i can pass you some to tie you over 1st this friday.
  14. Oniz is a CoralRX fervent believer now
  15. yah , the other thing with bonsai scape is that you can only keep minimal LS. really minimal.......
  16. it might help a little but not much. My thesis is based on ORP readings - not sure if this is a true reflection. I dumped 800g of biohommes in my tank, dosed 3 vials of biodigest over three weeks and there is no improvement on the ORP reading. I have since removed the biohommes, reverted back to using LR and the ORP shoots from 260 - 320 in 2 days with 1 vila of biodigest added. I think they might help minimally but you cannot rely on them and do away with LR.
  17. I feel that your tank might be too narrow for them. not suitable for them. hope I am wrong and that they do well there. good luck bro!
  18. looks very nice & stable, Paul. kudos to your discipline.
  19. Impt update for those using prodibio pdts: Pls do not assume that the vial will always make a clean break. I step onto remnants of the broken vial today. I think i did not make a clean break and a piece of glass shattered out. thank goodness my girls did not step on it. So please take special precaution.
  20. thanks Justin. wanted to scape a bonsai but in a 1.5 ft cube.... really not quite possible. Scaping a nano is really difficult. yah... eyes so sharp. Thairun only has one left. The other superman monti was taken up already. But bad news, I accidentally broke it into 2 during my scape... hmmmm the good thing now is that you have 2 piece paiseh.....
  21. does these things work for you? I tried biohomme plus but totally doubt that they help in colonizing bacteria. either that or could be the way I housed (in a cannister) them was wrong. liverocks would be a better bet, i think.
  22. Hi A small lunch gathering this friday 12:15 at Cityhall. Pls PM if you are keen to join us. usual kakis..... - justin - desi - digibee - echan rgds Jacky
  23. I extended the front part with 2 more mini arcs to place frags and for fishes to swim through. the silly yellow clown has taken the gonio has her permanent resting spot.... darn Side view: See the H goby at the bottom. thats her lair there. THe black grid at the back ==> chaeto project.
  24. My bubbles issue is gone. not sure why it took so long. Prob with the way I tune it. I always shut the valve. Then slowly loosen it until the bubbling is at the neck. there will be a point where you will hear an exceptionally loud hissing sound. just loosen it by a tiny weeny bit more and that should be the sweet spot. Waiting for your update bro!
