  1. I'm in for it. Tanzy, since you have experience in oversea order, can you take the lead ? (wah, arrow shoot liao). Maybe, better to meet face to face to firm up order and to pay the Indian Chief upfront to avoid any dispute. Guys, what do you think ? Limpc PS: Eh !!! didn't realise that I have attain Goby status. Hooray.
  2. ok ok stop it. Or else AT's effort in setting up Singapore's first reef club becomes LSL aka Lao Sai Leow. Happy New Year Limpc
  3. careful, they are watching you .... who knows, they may be one of our fellow members. Limpc
  4. Guys, Wouldn't it be cheaper, at least shipping cost, if we were to pool our purchases together ? I'm thinking of buying for the CPR AquaFuge hang-on refugium. Happy New Year!!! Limpc
  5. And loooong life way to go Turtle. Limpc
  6. Happen to see this with reference to the member's status. What does this indicate ? Is it like the martial art level ? AT, got prize if we hit certain level ? Limpc
  7. I'm using Sera test kit, too. The nitrate level of my tank ..... scare the shit out of me. I'm trying to get second opinion from another brand. How about JBL ? Though, the nitrate is high (according to Sera), my mushroom and finger coral are growing. Limpc

    Acrylic

Tanzy, Here's the shop in Kelantan Lane: Chop Kiat Seng No. 1, Kelantan Road Singapore 208600 Tel: 6298 3423. Went there last weekend to get some material. Limpc
  9. put the 4 fans in parallel. Add up all the fan's current rating and get a AC adaptor which can supply the total current. I believe computer fans are all 12V, so your adaptor has to be 12V. There are many choice of ac adaptor available and should not be more than $10. Limpc
  10. woh, great to see this thread is alive again. Alvy, what is Korallin DIY ? Tell me more, please. Limpc
  11. I was driving along Jln Ahmad Ibrahim and happen to see a banner with the warehouse sales message. If I'm not wrong, the address is 461 Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim. Did not check it out today as it was raining cats and dogs. My guts feeling is accessories for LH keeping. No harm checking. Will provide more info if I go. Limpc
  12. In my opinion, the difference between 0 and 0.05 is very minor. To what resolution can a test kit reflect? I'm not too sure. But utilising judgement by human eye already will introduce some error. Thus, I would feel 0.05 is pretty ok. From my experience, when I use JBL, the nitrite was at 0.05 and when I switch to a test kit from Aquaparm, it says 0. So don't be too worry. Watch out for Nitrate, which I'm still struggling with it now. Limpc
  13. One of my damsel developed the same disease and passed away the very next day. Better isolate completely from your main tank. Limpc
  14. Thanks for the exhaustive list. If there is picture of the coral attached with the description, that would be perfect. I'm one of the those who is confused with the name of coral. If u try consulting some LFS, you became lagi blur... So, if a online encyclopaedia (spelling ?) is available in this club, I believe it will help the newbie reef enthusiats a lot. This one for you AT. Limpc

    Wooden Planks

Hi all, Any recommended place where I can buy wooden planks cut to size ? Limpc
  18. Hi Sinn, The sump you bought is it a custom made to your requirement ? or is it off the shelf ? Limpc
  19. A lot of patience. Don't act rashly to stock up your new tank. This is a great test on your personal resistance and endurance. Limpc
  20. Don't forget a surface skimmer, found it useful to remove dust on the water surface esp. for open top fish tank. IMHO, you should set a budget because it could be very costly if you want to install everything on day ONE. Also, plan for a good filtration (sump) if your space and budget permits. Do not stinch on this. Limpc
  21. Well, I did it in another way. I pound the garlic and soak them in water together with brineshrimp. After about half an hour I removed the brineshrimp for feeding without the garlic. Seems to work for my blue tang. Limpc
  22. Picture tells a thousand words. Keep us posted. In fact, I'm exploring the possibility of copying the design of Ecosystem hangon refugium and get it "cheong" at Kelantan lane. Wondering if this is possible. Limpc
  23. Hi all, Please don't laugh at me for this simple question ok!! Since some coral and macroalgae depends on photosynthesis for survival, do they need CO2 ? If they do, how do we ensure sufficient supply ? Sorry, young days did not study so much. Limpc
