  1. no one suggested having a refugium to pull out nitrates biologically? I don't think it's as effective as chemical means but it's cheaper, safer and renewable...
  2. hm... but how can you angle the pump? Most of the time our wavemakers are not pointing horizontally...
  3. i have some... I stay at Upper Serangoon (near Serangoon Central).. $5 for a small plastic tub (self collect)... but I need to check, just harvested/threw away so might need a week to recoup the losses.. PM me if interested yah?
  4. the larger sea hares are lawn mowers for hair algae... problem is both of mine died after a few weeks in the tank, not sure if it was due to starvation after they cleaned out all the algae... smaller sea hares I tried couldn't take the wavemaker and got blown around till they dissapeared... algae blennies are a mixed bunch, mine doesn't seem to do much to hair algae, always just eats the flakes I feed the other fishes with...
  5. great news... GSPs back to full bloom again... *sigh of relief*
  6. YAY they starting to open up... still 80% closed but better than nothing!.. I moved it to a new location, blasted it with the seio for a while to wash off whatever might have been covering it... couple of hours later it started to open up... yay!!
  7. shouldn't be leh they were right at the top... u guys think maybe a crab or what is bothering it?
  8. okie, I already moved it to another position, will try to blast it with my seio later, what's this about dropping a hard object onto it, you mean even after you remove the hard object it still won't open?
  9. but did they open up again eventually? and why would seachem reef plus help?
  10. din change position leh... but I'll try to move it somewhere else to see if it helps..
  11. Hi guys, Something's wrong with my GSPs, had them for a few months now but in the past 3-4 days they've completely closed up and refuse to open... What could be the reason? Thanks! Ervine
  12. last i heard is if there's a point load or uneven load in your tank, the foam is supposed to help distribute that load and prevent the glass from cracking... in any case, better be safe than sorry!
  13. huh? both my six-lines have been very peaceful fish, hardly ever bother anyone only sometimes seems to go and bother the clownfish a little but nothing serious... the reason why I lost the first one was because it leap out of the tank... strange, never knew they were so agressive...
  14. guys beware of AC fans, while I have 2 that have been running 24/7 straight for 2-3 years, another one that I recently bought mysteriously gave way with a pop, then started to emit smoke. Thankfully I was home then to remove it, goodness knows what would have happened if I wasn't... If you ask me.. DC fans are safer...
  15. i think i can spare some cheato if u have some shroom or zoo frags...
  16. i can trade a handful for some zoo or shroom frags.. stay near serangoon central if it's convenient for you.. let me know yah?
  17. my gf going to give it a miss.. she say she wants one with a phone inbuilt into it...
  18. mine never used to host in the hammer, although both have been in the tank for ages... then suddenly one day the clown just decided to do so and he's never left there since... So not too sure if it's possible to train them to host...
  19. huh what loophole?? beat someone up got loophole to get out??
  20. it's for tap water.. not salt water... so you purify your tap water then only use the purified water to mix with store bought sea salt mix to get your salt water.. Just a side note... do you think this can be used for my freshwater planted tank as well??
  21. i tried the aquaz one... no good for me... don't know if I'm using it wrongly...
