Hi guys..
I've been contemplating wheter or not to forgo filter foam altogether... the reason I still have it in my sump is so that I can:
1. Trap bubbles preventing them from entering the fuge and subsequently the return (this cannot even be resolved since the microbubbles simply go right through the foam.. so it's no longer an issue to me..)
2. Trap solids to prevent them from entering into the fuge
The thing is... should I use filter foam to trap the solids entering my sump and subsequently replace the foam regularly, or should I just let the solids which went past the skimmer to enter the fuge?
What I'm afraid is that the solids will be trapped in the fuge and start to decay there, which might cause the fuge to accumulate quite a bit of waste after a while... will this happen?
So which is the better option, let the foam remove the solids or risk trapping solids in the fuge?
Thanks..
