  1. So what exactly are they nibbling on?
  2. Can buy at China Hill (shop's name) along Kelantan Lane... Bought mine there very long time ago.. and seriously the wire connectors work like a charm and are dirt cheap...
  3. Hi guys, Was moving one of my corals just now when my cleaner shrimp came up to me and started to clean my finger! Tingling sensation... hm... And it only went for one of the fingers, tried giving it another but it wasn't interested... weird.. Anyone else experienced this before?
  4. I using an old batch of the CL450... cuts in and out every 10mins or so an turns on for 5mins or so during hot seasons.... but noise wise wah piangs.... cannot make it..
  5. STRONGLY Believe in Murphy's Law.
  6. Sometime's it's not the real ehiem hose... the real ones have ehiem stamped all over it.. the fake ones are green but have nothing stamped on... IMO it's the same thing but I've realised that the fake one is a weeee bit thinner than the real ehiems...
  7. Interesting stuff.... nice vintage TV...
  8. Better use a sharp razor... gives a cleaner cut and can get as close to the rock as possible... better still just move the rock together with the clam
  9. from what I've read, just use the normal epoxy selleys or whatever... cheaper and just as effective (if not more effective)
  10. hole saw? Or like me, drill multiple holes, then file down
  11. Its by an animation studio called Blur... check out their other work.. also damn good...
  12. other than use a fan? chiller.. if chiller is not an option then don't turn on the aquarium lights, if thats still a problem don't turn on anything electrical, filters, pumps, etc... but of course that's just silly.. So it's either fans or chillers, or both... other methods have always run into problems..
  13. Why do they say 20K colours more vivid? seems like everything just takes on a blue hue.. all the colour detail is lost in the blue... I'd rather take an inbetween... 12k or something... maybe 10k would be good too
  14. Good to know that you managed to get ur MH to work... My 250W MH also illuminates my room, don't use a hood but I do have a black card that shields my seat from the MH, other than that it's the main source of lighting for my room (since I don't need that much light anyways).. don't worry you'll get used to it...
  15. I still think 20K is too blue.. like my tank... so blue that it takes out other interesting colours
  16. Well I know which laptop NOT to get... tosh*bas.... my friends in hall who have toshibas 4/5 of them have sent their laptops for servicing before a year was up.. Problems included power leakages, fan stopped spinning, etc etc etc.... go for IBMs... robust and good support...
  17. Probably would be one of the contributing factors.... take them out.. that's what I did... (although my nitrate levels didn't really take a dip after... hm)
  18. I see i see... thanks for the advice.. think I'll need to go add one... thanks again!
  19. Interesting, interesting... what motor are you using to drive it?
  20. My brother's goldfish (okay not marine but still a fish) sleeps upside down... weird
  21. I too was considering building one but too many things to consider, so I didn't bother... maybe you can share some of your schemetics? As for the tubing right, i believe there's a reason why they don't use normal silicone tubing, because the proper tubing collapses and slides more readily or something, so the strain on the motor is not that much or something like that lah...
  22. Oh haha wanted to do that but too lazy to go do a search... Good luck with the sales!
  23. Oh just realised the pic I have might be misleading.. the green tube is NOT supposed to go into the grey tube.. it's to be connected to a supply pump... which is not shown in the pic... And no it does not work on a siphon, it uses a pump to pump water into the skimmer...
