Hi guys, It's been quite some time since I've been back here, been too damn caught up with work in school... and as a result my tank has suffered greatly... In addition I forsee myself being unable to continue with a proper upkeeping of the tank both in terms of time as well as money.. as such, it is to my great sorrow that I'm going to take down my marine tank for the time being. What I need to know now is how to go about doing it? For the livestock it'll probably be okay, I can give them away to a friend and I can sell the rocks but what should I do with the sand in the end? I can't just leave it there right? Sell it too? Equipment wise I'm going to keep almost everything in case I with to start up again in the near future. So please don't ask about this. Also, I'm considering converting it into a FW tank instead since it's so much less of a hassle.. problem is how do I deal with the overflow at the back of the tank? Please assist.. Thanks, Ervine Lin

I'm for BBDC... passed there 1st time after the min number of 20+ lessons.. Main reason for going there is that the place is more driver friendly, less heavy vehicles, more small roads etc... so passing rate also quite high... I've had many friends who went private but didn't pass in the first few tries, so I still advocate going to a school... At BBDC I chose the non-fixed instructor instead because I wanted to make sure I could handle different people, if not when you keep sticking to same instructor then suddenly not used to the examiner sitting beside you... (er.. donno if I making sense or not.. not feeling too good) Okay good luck with ur driving..

I suppose that air got into the u tube again... thus the siphon rate slowed down.. stick a tube up the U tube and suck to make sure there's no air inside -
yup just bought mine there.. working fine... Go down the stairs at the entrance into the basement, then on the left there's a shop with LED displays and solar panels, hanging on their racks is the float switch.. 20 bucks retail, bargain to 18 or 19...

My bubble did that to my cup coral... used my finger to dislodge it... lucky no visible damage...

Mine eats both algae and fishfood... maybe the algae not enough for him...

Hm.. I bought 2, one opened up the day I bought it, the other the following day... maybe something's irritating it?

High pay in architecture only for the bosses leh... the others get paid peanuts if you don't climb the ladder... but this is compared to other professions lah eg. docs lawyers, etc... Also, there's too many restrictions which hinder one's creative limits... while at times the restrictions help guide one, more often than not they make things very monotonous... well I guess that depends on which firm you work with too huh... Moron: Yup.. will get to that in a while.. I got the outline for the mini, not the mini S.. so will add in the little stuff later after I settle all the windows and rear bumper.. hold on to ur horses! Anyway, here's the latest one... not much difference just cleaned it up a little, made certain things more defined and managed to solve the weird bends under the door...

Hm.. architorture... u one year my senior? or old bird liaos? Actually considering moving out of architecture, long hours, low pay, little self fulfilment, stressful working environment, etc etc... that's why started to hantam some max see if I can branch out a little...

Yup, i've already seperated doors and hood, will seperate the others later... everything else is now a single mesh.. I too use max for architecture (in fact that's why I started using it) but seriously it's not the best tool to model, to render probably but not to model... unless we are talking about organic architecture, if it's just HDB blocks there are much faster software out there to model... Or is there some secret in max that I don't know about yet that will speed up modelling for architecture?? Hehehe... Using the default scanline for now.. couldn't get my hands on brazil or some other more professional renderer... maybe I just wack mental ray...

Using 3Dsmax 6, poly modelling... not a technical project, just visual.. so no need to be too precise software... Managed to resolve some of the problems by checking the vertices, some were not welded properly, then converted some triangles to quads (supposed to be able to allow Meshsmooth to work better) and tweaked the vertices again here and there... Here's an updated render, still have some problems in the bumper area though... the middle of the body nevermind first coz I haven't welded the two halves together..

Hi guys, Just picked up 3Dsmax over the hols and have been trying to figure things out... was wondering if anyone here is into it? Here's a pic of something I'm working on, I'm trying to model a mini copper but having some problems with the smoothing along the bumper... Anyone can give some advice? Thanks, Ervine
