  2. U have macro algae in the tank? possible macro algae crash?
  3. i use coralife salt, have a pail of water, pour in salt and stir with an immersed powerhead... usually becomes clear in at most 30mins if the salt:water ratio is correct...
  4. i went in before but there's nothing much to see... some seahorses breeding... some fishes breeding.. that's abt it... U can see some huge equipment there though...
  5. Great work bro! It might be cheaper than the ones with float switches.. i only forsee one problem... u probably need titanium probes to probe the water. Coz other metals might have some problems with corrosion, esp in salt water, resulting in poor contact. heard u can get titanium probes from bicycle spooks...
  6. i have always wanted to upgrade to digital timers but then my the ben timer has been serving me well so I din bother... It seems like the ben timers got some QC problems or something, some people love em, some people hate em...
  7. it's a slap in the face to those who are against the casino.. now not only one casino.. got TWO casinos... it's crazy! so small island u want 2 casinos... Oh well... so when are we going? HEhehe
  8. these analog based timers have a tendency to spoil or get stuck... better to get digital
  9. btw, if I'm not wrong u can't get coke in india... got some local monopoly that sells another cola which prevents coke from entering into the market well at least that happened when I was there

it's rust resistant.. not rust free... especially when there's salt water around... and SS is expensive and not easy to find someone that'll do it for you
  15. bro... the pH shouldn't... there are kalk reactors out there which have powerheads stiring kalk w/o any problems... but if u are talking abt soaking the powerhead in the kalk solution then I think it's a different matter, coz the wire might get corroded.. and the pH is high.. it's 12 leh... although not as bad as acid it'll still corrode things quite easily.. Also, not the best idea to have the kalk in the reservoir because there will be air in the reservoir.. u want the kalk solution to not touch air as much as possible... lastly... i also have an DIY auto-top which delivers kalk solution.. but the water reservoir only holds water, all the kalk is stirred in the DIY kalk reactor.. so it's water reservoir --> kalk reactor --> tank
  16. I think eaquanature's store has a L shaped tank... can go check it out... (hope I remember correctly!!)
  17. issit? but luohans are also cichlids right? Or hybrids at least...

Be careful with SS... u still need to coat it several times with a marine grade epoxy paint...
  21. Good idea... but does the card hold properly? Coz some stubborn algae ened a good wacking before they will dislodge...
  22. wah lau their reaction damn extreme man... lucky most of them quite cute... hehe..
  23. problem is fan usually blows across the surface not onto the surface whereas lights need to be directed into the water not across... but i think it's a pretty good idea..
