FOWLR? Then can just do w/o anything lah... don't use MH loh... If you worried then just have a small fan blowing across (but need to top up freshwater more frequently)

always take what you hear at LFSs with a pinch of salt... there are some out there who would give you all the wrong info just so that you will go back to them to buy more "miracle fluids" and equipment...

Hi guys, Ok this is not for my fishtank but I guess some people might have done this for their fish tanks so might as well ask here.. I'm looking for portable power w/o needing to run a noisy and smelly generator.. I believe i can use an inverter and car batteries to do this. Problem is where to get the components and how to size them properly for my application? (assuming I'm powering something like 500W for at least 2-4hrs) Also, are there any dangers in using the car batteries and how do I recharge them? Thanks a bunch! Ervine

i think u can ask someone to help rig up this to an external air-con compressor, shouldn't be much of a problem... then pipe in ur water into the reservoir to get chilled... oh yah and of course get the temperature controller... One thing though... will the constant turning on and off of the compressor cause problems? I remember many years back they always tell us to wait 1/2 an hour before turning on the air-con again after it's just been turned off..

don't worry abt them... there are people who would love to have them crawling all over their sump... btw.. did u happen to take that photo? coz it's really close up...
