that looks like what I have in my refugium... it's the only macro algae that worked for me and has worked for me for 2yrs or so already, usually doubling in mass every 1-2weeks... has never gone asexsual on me even though I don't run the refugium 24/7... how effective it is I don't know but just based on the fact that it doubles in mass every week or 2 I would think it's pretty darn effective... as to what specificially it is.. i THINK it's a type of small leaf caulepra... mine even had tiny "grapes" before...

why not try a way to channel the water from your main tank thru this.. in that way you won't need to change the water daily... quite difficult on the plumbing side but I think it's possible...

don't worry abt the hermits, as long as they don't nip at your shrooms it's fine... my hermits trample over everything, shrooms, zoos, cups, but in the end all the corals just go back to normal after the initial intrusion...

this is like the time when there was a group of people who advocated proper english to be used on personal blogs (back about 2-3yrs ago when I had a blog)... I don't see a point... if you are looking for more in depth and technical articles, posts, replies, etc then yes SRC might not be the best place to go but it feels more like home as compared to other forums out there. Try going to reefcentral and asking for advice that only locals will know, eg. incoming stock for our LFS, or where to buy wood for your cabinet, etc... I seriously cannot imagine having a local forum where every post sounds like a GP essay, it's just too sterile... What's wrong with using a little singlish in our posts? Does the message still get across, if so then it's still effectively communicated, perhaps even more so than if proper english was used. Lighten up bro...

my previous sixline went missing... found it several months later all shrivelled up on the floor behind the tank... My sixline is quite well behaved actually... hardly bothers any of the other fishes.. just goes about it's every day life as normal...

that's strange... reefing is my escape from work actually... Sometime work until damn tired, just take a few minutes arrange some coral, feed the fish, etc... Perhaps it's not reefing that's the problem.. it's BUYING stuff for your reef that's the real obsession??
