  1. Ah what the heck.. no one replied... anyway, i've gotten down to starting on the skimmer. So I've got the venturi up and running and the maxijet is chopping up the bubbles pretty well... hoping to find a proper bioball so that I can mod the impeller... Will post pics soon...
  2. Great work!!! Some of the best graphics to date in SRC.. not to mention DIY! Too bad a surge won't work for me as my autotop up will go crazy if the water levels keep changing...
  3. IMO it's damn demoralising to study finish then have to serve back that 1 or 2 mths... sigh... but no choice lah...
  4. i think 2nd method better... the elbows in the return don't need to be elbows anyways, just buy a washing machine hose and hook it up to the overflow pipe. Flexible and durable....
  5. hm... i have a thing for monti caps.. nice nice
  6. interested in item 2... still available?
  7. If one beckett isn't enough why not two instead?? Or better still (for lower power consumption and lower costs) use several maxijets or ehiem 1260s modded with pinwheels to chop up more bubbles... To me it seems a more logical solution than a hybrid... but as the spirit of experimentation goes, just try loh....
  8. I think it's pretty easy to tell real from fake. Firstly the water shouldn't ripple like that. That's just a bump map. The fabric looks too rigid, the edges where the wall meets the ceiling are strangely dark. Anyway, here's a render I did for my recent project. It's a meditation room... er.. don't ask why...
  9. hm.. looks computer generated to me...
  10. I believe the DIY shops in Singapore are very very expensive... small things you can get at your neighbour hood hardware store are often much cheaper... The only difference is that the commercial ones tend to bring in better brands (which also mean more expensive brands) but they probably work the same...
  11. I think the needle wheel will have a problem chopping up already fine bubbles... and seriously, a beckett alone should be more than enough right?
  12. No it wasn't a hydrogen bomb right? It was an atomic bomb I think under the same category as nuclear bomb... same principles of bombarding uranium(??) with itself or something like that....
  13. 3ft tank 4x36W... no ferts, no water changes, no CO2 supplements only soil based substrate and plants... but sadly been neglecting the tank due to other "salty" commitments... Was doing perfectly fine until BBA took over... exterminated it with chemicals (BAD BAD BAD MISTAKE) but that took out most of the plants as well.. lazy to replace the plants ever since, so now it's an almost mono-species plant tank...
  14. The beauty of destruction.... hm...

  18. i bought mine from Havelock road LFS.. forgot the name liao, they usually have small pieces of LR compared to those giant ones found at some other LFS...
