  1. Sotong, the gauge down means cannot control temp or totally cannot use? i may be looking for a chiller for my small tank.
  2. You can look for Ivcap thread. He's selling a 0.5 Pacific Cool
  3. NA.. humm.. maybe later go take a look. Thanks.
  4. Btw Henry have a PL 24watt. But it slightly more than 1 feet. Should be suitable for a 1.5 feet tank. But i think there's only a few in stock. Call him before you go down.
  5. Naz, the 1ft T5 you mention is of how many watts? I'm presently setting up a 1 feet tank and i can only locate 13 watts PL for the tank. I think there is still 18watt Pl for 1 feet. Anyone know where to locate one?
  6. Aiyah.. why not we look things from another point of view. IF you are the Company, will you do the above to recover that couple of hundreds? Taking into consideration the lawyer fee and the processing time. I used to work for a debt collection agency. Even Banks dun sue ppl over a small amount. They just wan to recover the money, NOT to lose more. BTW what the company name?!!? Caution fellow reefers here!
  7. lolz.. Btw i'm looking for a clip with a fat man singing and dancing.. anyone know where is it?? Been looking for it but cannot locate it!
  8. Angmoh, i will say that 4 tubes are enough to keep most LPS. 2 tubes will mean that the coral can only make use of one tube (10k). And 1 tube have only so much coverage. Btw most E-ballast for T5 fire 2 tubes at once. Meaning that running 1 tube is troublesome unless you know how to wire them yourself (to close one circuit with cable). So you will probably only have the option of either 2 or 4 T5s.
  9. Basically T5 and PL are different and in my opinion cannot be compared equally. I guess your concern is that what kind of lighting is suitable for your tank. I have used both lighting in my previous 2ft tank before and i will give some advice based on my experiences in using them. Types of Tubes and reflectors play a very important part. Generally t5 have better penetration power which is why most reefers dun use them for deeper tanks. Better penetration doesn't mean brighter. It probably mean the corals will be able to utilise more of the light spectrum. Brightness only apply to human eyes and is not a good factor to judge whether the light is 'good' for reefs. Example having 8 T8 or FL is brighter than 1 MH, but FL cannot penetrate a depth of 2 feet. Some reefers uses their T5 for more than a year with no ill effect. Other advantages includes; lesser heat, getting more popular with more accessories (reflectors, tubes, fixture). PL dun have too much options of reflectors and tubes. I had a 2 x tube PL set that melts partially when i switch on the lights for 8 hours (Yes it does produce so much heat). I used some branded tubes and it does show some pleasant colours but it blew within 3 months (I tried 3 times). I will use 4 x T5 for a 2ft tank with LPS. It 24wx4 compared to 55w x 2. Blue spectrum (20k) will bring out the colours of the corals more than white or yellow spectrum (10k). But corals normally make use of the 10k region more. Normally reefers uses a combi of both blue and white tubes. I will prefer 3 white and 1 blue combi. Hope its useful for you.
  10. Do check with the supplier if the black PVC can be used for Water or even Marine applications. As the additives added to the PVC may not be suitable or might leach into the system over time. The black additives they add is noramlly carbon black, others processing aids includes plasticisers, UV stabilisers, etc... Extra care must be taken especially with Heat from the MH. Normal PVC will degrade outdoor under rain and shine conditions. I have only seen one kind of black pipings for water (That goes under the sea) and there are NOT made of PVC. I cannot remember what material exactly but i think i saw the initial PE (PolyEthylene) on it. Just my 2 cents.
  11. Wah! Good deal! Reefers pls dun bring too many ppl.. or else sure got sparring action..
  12. Hi Bro, Maybe because i'm too sensitive to this particular issue, i blew my top. I apologise if that's not what you meant in the first place. But i would like to say that by commenting my sale item is 'awfully thin to even support a tank full of Salt water... Don't wanna think about a tank full load of LR', i cannot help feeling that someone is trying to be funny here. Even though i read the sentence several times. It also imply that i'm selling a tank which cannot even hold water?! If you rephrase your sentences in another manner, the misunderstanding might not have happened. Alternatively, you could have pm me to arrange for a viewing of the tank to judge and see for yourself. As you have known, its a second hand tank which was used for the same purpose previously (which you might not know). So its definitely in a good working condition. Anyway the the tank is now sold and hope there's no hard-feelings. Cheers~
  13. Tank Reserved. Limsteel. I cannot start to show you calculations on its physics as i dun have a Ph.D in Physics. If the Cabinet walls seems AWFULLY thin to YOU, YOU DUN BUY IT! And that's if you are interested in getting the tank in the first place. And for your info, this is a second hand tank. IT WAS FULLY LOADED BEFORE. Yes with a TANKFUL of Livestock including rocks. Do you need the figures to know how much the tank can hold?? SRC seems to be full of a particular kind of reefers nowadays. Anyway i attached a msg from a fellow who has come over to view the tank. You can choose not to believe it. Message from: Nic a Jon Hi bro I am sorry...have to pass on ur tank as I find the height too high for me as i still want to continue BB......prefer 2ft max height. i must say the condition of the tank v good....hope someone get fron u soon thanks for letting me view,......cheers
