Some more prob.. As the tank is from an aro keeper, the hood is low. To make matter worse, there is a centre supporting plank preventing me from mounting the MH in the centre of the hood. Questions.. 1) If i mount the Mh on the 'behind' half of the hood, would it cause 'shadows' if i look from the front of the tank? is it going to be very unsightly? I can only mount another 2 T5 at most on the 'front' half. Make any differences? 2) If i were to fabricate another hood, how much more to fork out? Contacts?

Finally completed my piping works. No digi cam to take pics. After many weeks of headache, decided to more or less stick to the ex-design. Due to some of the pipings that is fixed, i cannot turn the sump around. And the glueing of silicon in the sump is done in such a way that is against the water flow. By turning the sump around might result in the leaking of the partition on the future. Included a Union Ball Valve to the return pipe(return to tank) to control water flow. Did not drill additional holes as advised. Too troublesome also. Fabricated the durso Redo the sump to house a DSB and refrigium Diy Eurobracing to the bottom of the tank. Dun know got use or not.

Shit.. i cut the plug before i read the new post.. Btw i got this pump from another reefer here.. not sure have warranty or not... Connected the wire after some advice from fellow reefers. Run the pump and wow.. suck my sump dry .. cannot use full potential of the pump..haiz.. for all advices. Hope this would help other reefers when they have this suituation.

Hi all, bought myself a md55 and i noticed the 3-pin plug is different. So how to change to a plug that can fit into my power point? Which wire to which point of the local 3-pin plug? btw i already bought a 3-pin plug.

Hi guys, anyone knows what in the 'black box' of a 250w MH?. i only know that it basically contain a capacitor, ignitor and a ballast. Is there anything else? I also heard that certain control gear box cannot fire up certain bulbs? Whats the differences? Wanted to get one and wan to know what to look out for. PLs advise

Been to a reefer's place and saw a diy MH done using victron MH. Sitting on L-frame aluminium. Can anyone here advise what is the minimum height clearance needed??

Thinking of DIY 2 x 150w MH onto hood. But my Hood height is only 8cm (from glass to the top ply) So it left me with the only option of diy the bulb to the hood with a reflector in between. Has anyone done this before? Is it advisable? Worried about the coverage of MH and the contact of water with the bulb.

Heard DSB can crash in a few years. My sump not very big also. May be just stick to the DSB in Main tank. Skimmer should come before refigium right. What if due to space constraint, and i place the skimmer after the refigium? Will skim out all the pods?
