  1. Nice thick foam there. Kopi in the making?
  2. His pix got send for censorshipboard one before posting...
  3. This is red slime algae. There is a red slime remover that you can try but be careful of the dose. Check the current flow in your tank. Red slime tends to grow when the current flow rate is low. Test your water for PO4 as well.
  4. Oh, since u are running a CR, then its a different story. Yes, if you want to promote coralline algae growth, then Purple UP is good. Do take note that Purple UP promotes growth, which means that you must have some coralline algae in your tank in the first place.
  5. Bro, Purple up is more for promoting coralline algae growth. They have another product called AragaMILK (liquid) & AragaMIGHT (powder) which is more meant for maintaining CA. Good for maintaining the CA level in tank provided u know what is your tank CA comsumption. But if want to use this to raise your CA, you have to be careful and not overdo it as it will affect your PH.
  6. Not hinting lah.. just that i am really amazed by how hardy and how fast this piece of sps grows.
  7. Eh... Bro... if return pump not working, there should be no more water flowing down to your sump. Unless you dun have a overflow system and you are running 2 pumps. 1 pump water from main tank to sump and the other pump from sump back to main tank. If that is your case, you can try using a float switch to control both pumps.
  8. Bro, you can come up with your own food mix like Henry liao. Call it Jervis Food Mix. Then can sell also. hahahahhaa
  9. Bro, 245 US gallons is about 900++ litres...big tank you have. $500~700 to buy a skimmer capable to support such a volume is abit thin. Here are some reference. Hydor 1000DP skimmer - $968 ATI BubbleMaster 250 - $998 Skimz Sidea M200 - $788 You can also check out product reviews in the forum for reliable skimmer brands.
  10. Hi there, Maybe you can advise if you have any budget for the skimmer. There are many different make and model of skimmers out there that can cater to your need. The only difference is the $$$.
  11. Hi, No offence but cannister has its limitations as compared to a sump. Turnover rate really depends on the return pump in the sump. If you have a strong return pump, you can achieve a turnover rate of 10 to 20 times easily. Sump dun need regular cleaning although u might need to siphon out the detritus buildup once in a while. End of the day, every system has its pros and cons.
  12. Let me help Jervis reply on this. Its a 2ft x 4 tubes ATI PM.
  13. Hi, have a few questions about your tank. What is the dimensions of the tank, thickness of glass and does it comes with cabinet?
  14. Bro, Pmed you on the tank but never get any reply from you leh.
  15. Hi, Would like to reserve your refractometer. Thanks.
  16. the growth is amazing... totally cannot recognise it.
  17. eh... is that the frag i passed to u ?
  18. WOW... nice nice.. But feel that the lighting a little too blue in the pic to see the actual colors of your sps leh. Bro, can take some pics with just white light and some with just the blue light?
  19. Sand sifter gobies will only cause headache when they spit sand all over corals that you place on the sandbed. Otherwise, they are quite ok.
  20. Hi Sisreefer, Can ask what skimmer you are using? Might not be efficient enough in removing the nitrite from your tank thus resulting in your tank maintaining a high nitrate level.
  21. My only comments after reading this thread and eating alot of popcon is.... Grow up please and kindly brush up on your written english.
  22. Bro, Hang in there. Part of reefing is experiencing the ups and downs. Be Strong. May the Force be with you.
