With proper heat dissipation the LED should last 100,000 hrs. But lets take it on the safe side we can take it as 75,000 hour.
The heat dissipation is almost not there, now mainly is your pump or wavemaker heat.
Very hard to use camera to capture the 2 lights side by side.
The only accurate way is take the intensity reading of the 2 lights when they are mounted on the tank
Will left it to burn in for 24 hours before install on the 24 G nano cube hood
Then we can do an intensity measurement as compare to the original 76 watt PLC
Now it is power by 18 pieces 4 watt P4 LED
Total power consumption is 24 watt.(I did not run at
maximum forward current so that the heat can be within control
Also this tank is 16 inch high only it will breach any coral if run at
full forward current of 1 ampere.
Something to share, bros
LED light intensity are high although they may look dim.(P4 running at 700mA)
During the course of testing I found and observe this.
While testing for the PAR of LED lighting(I do not have a PAR meter)
with SPS I put the SPS near the top of the tank closer to the LED(About
2 inches from the LED light).
3 days later all the SPS frags that are nearer to the LED start to breach
So I move a few half breach SPS down another 8 inch.
After 2 weeks they start to color.
Monti which was place about mid way down after 1 month start to thicken and extend.
Anyway if you run ok with 48 watt T5HO.
The equivalent for 48 watt T5HO cannot be 48 watt LED
Normally for LED about less than 24 watt will give you the
equal lux value and higher PAR value
