Bro BarraCuda, I think is not a good alternative although very much cheaper. The which heat is from the iron core ballst.So amount of heat generated might be the same as normal FL setup. EBallast make use of electronics so less heat generated hence less loss of energy. I will still opt for EBallast Regards

Terry, Definitely not for this items.Very simple circuit. All you need is a float switch or two,an alarm circuit ,a box and 1 socket for your pump. Only need to do some cutting ,filing ,soldering and wire connection. As long as you know how to drill ,file,saw,solder and tighten screws, Regards
