156 watt is spreadover 4 ft right?

Calculate your total water volume including your sump. Then choose a pump which output is at least 10 times your total water volume . This is what I do. I never include the wavemaker capacity .

If the 2nd hand set is in very good condition, go for it.It is very much cheaper than a new set. The cabinet must be strong(solid wood) and not rotting. The tank main glass must have no visible scratch. And of course no leak. For return pump go for reputable brand like Ocean Runner or Red Dragon A Deltec skimmer recomend by Bro Peter is a good investment

Your pump must be able to have at least 10 time turnover in an hour. So first you need to calculate your total water volume inclusive of the sump. Then you go get the correct return pump base on the total water. I hope that help

Bro, I first timer. Even with not so great light it srvive but brown brown Then shift to better light, see growth. So shift again to better intensity light start to color. Of course must have reasonable flow and water parameter Try again.Should be no problem

So your tank is 18 inch by 18 inch by 18 inch. So the height is 18 inch. If you going to keep SPS then you need to have lens of 60 Deg(This is my recomendation) You need 3 watt LEDs.You need around 20 LEDs .Ratio of 50/50 give you 14k spectrum.(white/royal blue) You can get star LEDs or Strip LEDs(Specially design by me for DIYers convenient) For star LEDs you need a driver for every 6 LEDs. For strip LEDs you need a 24 DC power supply to drive all the 7 strip of LEDs. Do you need a dimmer? It allow you to play with the blue and white mixing as well as the intensity of the LEDs If you need dimming then you need 2 PWM.oNE FOR each color of LEDs If you do not need dimming then you can go for the AC input driver. Go for good and reputable brand LEDs like Seoul SemiCon or Cree. They have better and more constant output then some unknown brand LEDs. I do not know if Cree had any distributor in Singapore but SSC had 3 in Singapore. Most of the above items you can get over the internet or direct from me. By the way I am in the West. Bro, You mean the 3 modules of LED light sets for my new 5 footer? If yes. the 2 ft module equivalent to a 300 WATT MH is S$1550 THE 2 ft module equivalent to a 180 watt MH is S$ 1350 and the 1 ft module equivaent to a 130 watt MH is S$800 All LED use are 3 watt SSC high power LEDs.
