  5. Hi FVZ! If you had read my earlier post, the live rocks had been secured by a reefer by the name of Wayne. I'm sorry that you couldn't get them coz I got only a few pieces. 5 medium size live rocks and a few small ones, all going to him. Regards Marino
  6. Those who had emailed me enquiries about the specifications of the chiller, I had already replied to them. First one to confirm will get the chiller at $300/-. The brand is Teco. It is actually a micro chiller and had been used for about 8 months. Got it last year for almost about $850 or $890. In regards to why I am able to sell my Live Rocks cheap is because I want those who are new into the hobby to have proper rocks to cycle and beautify their tanks. This is my way of contributing to the continuation of this hobby since my busy schedule doesn't permit me to do so. Regards Marino
  7. Hi All! Sorry, if I didn't manage to reply to all your enquiries in my yahoo account nor Sgreef mailbox. The reason is that I am too busy. I had looked into my mailbox and the person who happened to contact me first had been given the live rocks. His name is Wayne. His mail happened to be the first one that popped into my mailbox. For the rest of you who had emailed or pm me, I would like to express my regret for your not being able to get the live rocks As for the Teco Chiller it is going at $300 and one reefer had emailed me. If he is interested in the chiller, then my sale will be closed. If not, I would post the chiller specifications here. Regards Marino
  8. Hi All! I got some pieces of live rocks with coraline algae to clear. Intending to sell off $8 per piece of live rock regardless of size. One live rock is about 8 or more kg. Altogether, I got about 6 pieces. The rest are small pieces. Of course those small ones I will give it for free. Priority will be given to those who are new to the hobby. First come, first serve basis. Reason for selling is due to me giving up the hobby. Also got Taco chiller that is suitable for tank of size 2ft or less for sale at $300/- Interested parties, please email me at darrensohwl@yahoo.com.sg. Thank you. Regards Marino
  9. It slipped off my mind to collect the T-shirt last Sunday as I was bogged down by work. As such, to make up for my blunder, I would want to let go the T-shirt. AT, you may sell off my T-shirt to raise more funds to keep SRC going or you can give it to whoever really wants it but didn't order it.
  10. I agreed with Riot. Mine is also a small set up. I didn't have deep sand bed and to compensate for it, I put more live rocks to do the biological filtration. It works and when feeding your corals, try to feed them with DTs plankton. They are live food and won't pollute your water. I did water changes once every 1 1/2 or 2 weeks. My maintenance is simple and I encountered no problem so far. My set up has been up and running for 5 months already. My only problem is detritus. Turbo snails and not great a cleaning crew to do the job as they tend to stick to one small area of the tank. So far all of them met an early death, perhaps can't stand detritus or I simply don't know what they want for food. But I got no problem with those smaller snails that come with the live rocks. Anyone here knows how to get an effective cleaning crew? I preferred snails (not Turbo snails) and where to get them?

  17. Sometime the dead fish might got buried in the sand so that's why the carcass can't be located.
  18. Aiyah! My stand is like those hanging type cabinet, where the behind part is more secure than the front part. So if I put bricks, skali the lower part of the cabinet collapse coz cant tahan the weight of the bricks how?
  19. Nope, not the tank. I should coat the stand with cement so that it will now be solid as a rock and so no give me problem.
  20. U so mean. I should get better. U wanna rent me a boat?
  21. I can move it to at any other place coz i was barred from putting it elsewhere other than my room. Some more the current stand is custom built and attached to the wall and my bed. So how to put a new stand? Already got no room for me. My intention is to get a skill and experience carpenter to put up some more support in the middle of the stand.
  22. Nope. Indeed im so lousy. I had secure it with a metal rod for the time being. The stand is only a bit dented & it has caused me much alarmed. I want to take this precaution before the situation get worse.
  23. I really need the help of the pple here to recommend me a gd carpenter who can help support the stand that is holding my 2ft tank. When the stand was constructed, it was meant for a tank about 1.5 ft only. Now, that I had 2ft on it, the weight must be damn heavy. The stand was constructed around July this year and I had shifted the tank there on the month of Aug. Now the stand has started to make faint creaking noise every now and then. I am alarmed and worried like hell. As the tank is in my room, I can't sleep coz so preoccupied that it will crash. Pls help urgently.
  24. If you want to let them die of starvation, you must also take into consideration whether their "deaths" will pollute the water and in the process caused so much harm to your tank inhabitants. It is best to play safe now than be sorry later. Me for example, find out that the species that I bought will release toxic muscuous when they are disturbed. The muscuous are harmful to the tank inhabitants (fishes & corals included). I quickly plucked them from my tank (lucky only 2 of them and so need not look high & low) and return them to the LFS the next day. My purchase was impromptu and I had no slightest idea that they are the harmful Nudibranch. For those hobbyist who had harmless Nudibranch in their tank, please don't be alarmed and continue to keep your highly regarded species. You may read my contribution to the posting done by Reefdude about Nudibranch.
  25. I also got my 2 nudibranch, costing $5 each from Chinatown. They are greenish with yellow dots, dotting their backs. When I asked them what are these, I ended up answering their question. My answer is "sea slugs" and I have no idea that they are also known as the dreaded Nudibranch. I surfed the net to find out more about my purchases and was lucky enough to find out about their toxicity and the advised given by the professional that they should be left in the wild. As quickly as I bought it, I returned them today and got for myself a not so beautiful coral to replace them. Better than returning them and got nothing back. I think the LFS had no idea that they have toxic live stocks in their midst and I'm worried that those people who are clueless like me will end up purchasing these creatures and in the process caused the whole of their tank's inhabitants to be wiped out. It was to my advantage that I didn't tell them about the implications of keeping Nudibranch in an aquarium or else I won't get product replacement.
