  1. http://www.zoaid.com/index.php?module=Gallery2&g2_itemId=9584 Polyps easily reach 1" in diameter. Got a frag with 8 polyps. Going for $10 per polyp. Do arrange sharing if needed as I do not want to frag the rock.
  2. 2 x 2" frags available. Encrusted on substrate. $50 per frag. Collection in Marine Parade.
  3. Selling 2 units of RIO Hf 20 pumps. Pumps are dismantled and soaking in vinegar. I will clean them tomorrow and have them assembled and test run for the buyer. Selling $35 per pump, $60 for both. Collection in Marine Parade.
  4. Stenopus scutellatus, not the common Indo-pacific Stenopus cyanoscelis. Price has always been high. Last came in many many years ago. I wanted to get it that day but price was not out. Now price out already but I think the female had released the larvae already. No point for me to get it now.
  5. Yes. Frequent small feedings are preferred over a single large feeding. The same amount of food fed over more frequent feedings will be digested better by the fishes, leading to less waste excreted.
  6. Lower biological oxygen demand. Your fishes compete less for dissolved oxygen and are less stressed. Oxygen levels are very often overlooked.
  7. Check your ammonia. Probably ammonia spike if you have been adding a lot of fish.
  8. No I meant it. 160-180 is cheap, for something illegal. People have to sell so cheap to clear stock as it is illegal. Once these kind of things become legal, do not expect prices to be the same as it is now. It will definitely go up. Take Hongkong for example, look at the prices there. Topic closed. Too off topic.
  9. The difference is that in the States it is legal. If it was legal here, the pricing will easily be SGD $500 per pc as well.
  10. Going back to the initial purpose of this thread, there is no point in breeding blood shrimps here. If blood shrimps are to be bred in Australia, then yes. Over there, a single blood shrimp will set you around AUS $100 per shrimp. As for the polls, even if the shrimp is captive bred, most people will not pay more than $10. So in terms of economic feasibility, it is impossible. The only way for this to work is for wild-caught bloodshrimps to be banned for the trade, or even become extinct. Both these possibilities are highly unlikely. This is a classic example of how hobbyist mindset can greatly influence the sustainability of the marine hobby.
  11. Agreed. I changed all my RIO returns to Eheim after one of my RIO failed. I have never heard of eheim pumps failing, even after 10-20 years. It might cost more to run an eheim pump but I value my fish more than electricity bills.
  12. Very soon will have the ultimate copepod product.
  13. No salts are able to fully replicate NSW. In that sense, NSW is best. However, it is only if the NSW is treated properly before usage. You need to filter out all the sediment and preferably sterilize it before use. A common practice to sterilize NSW is to use regular bleach. http://www.marinebreeder.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=132&t=1313&hilit=dechlor+ratios&start=25 Besides bleach, other options include UV sterilization and ozone.

    Filter socks

Yes they can be cleaned by high pressure water spray but certain stains would need bleach to get it out completely.
  15. Ich parasites somehow become "deactivated" after they attach to an immune fish and drop off. If you control how often you add new fish and letting the fish gain immunity before adding another fish, the ich parasites will not reach an overwhelming population to kill fish. I experience that ich usually only kills fish if you have been adding too many new fishes recently.

    Filter socks

Thanks for sharing Marcel. Very ingenious idea. I might have to look if I can find milk filters in Singapore. Getting rather tired from fish chores, inclusive of bleaching and washing filter socks. Would be great if I can just dispose of them. So, when do you have enough albino ocellaris to send to Singapore?
  17. Observe your zoas. If they are stretching upwards, the lighting is insufficient.
  18. Wish I had your photography skills.
  19. Iwarna has Hydrocarbon, the big tub.
  20. No, biopellets will not remove silicates.
  21. Current configuration is ok. For the 1262 you might want to link up to 1" piping as return, so you do not restrict the pump. You will get a lot more flow, as opposed to using 1/2" piping for return. You should get a separate wavemaker in your tank like a vortech or tunze. In case your return pump fails (quite unlikely for Eheim but just in case), your tank will still have circulation and you won't end up losing everything.
  22. Lack of polyp extension could indicate that it does not like the water parameters, you might want to check pH and kH. Radioactive birdnest I have found to be slightly more tolerant compared to other birdnest, and since it has been in your tank longer it could already have been accustomed to current conditions.
