  6. In captivity, raising them to settlement takes around 5 months. Worked with them for so long but never found any settlement cues. They are just a species which produce giant larvae that need to reach 2cm before they molt into a shrimp. Even wild measurements of pre-settlement L. amboinensis larvae are around 2cm. http://www.ifmn.net/en/putzergarnelen/lysmata-amboinensis-und-lysmata-debelius.html
  7. Saw the fish 2nd from the left before. I think from CF quite a while back.
  8. A challenge to keep. Hope I will be able to sustain this stunning tunicate.
  9. Some growth shots. Montiporas and Seriatoporas seem to do better in my tank, they are more forgiving of my careful neglect. Favourite pink birdnest, has more than doubled in mass since I got it. Just added a pink Poccillopora for my panda gobies. Time will tell if it can do well.
  10. Thread closed. Most things have buyers already. Thanks.
  11. Priority will be given on a FCFS basis. Thank you.

  15. Tried this today. Awesome stuff. Normal cheap expanding foam used in the construction industry takes 12-24 hours to cure. Fauna Marin's Reef Scape foam fully hardened before 2 hours was up. Especially for people who wish to use this product to bond liverocks together. Your liverock will not become dried rock.
  16. You would never have guessed that the parents that produced the albino clownfish are perfectly normal clownfish. They just happened to have the genes for albinism. The chances of albinism to be reproduced is very rare. Even for terrapins now, there are albino versions. Nothing wrong IMO. The parrotfish issue is another thing. These fish are dyed artificially, not selectively bred. That is inhumane.
  17. Hi Marcel, I'll try to spread the news. I get their stocklist somehow. Here's more information for those who are interested.
  18. Cannot be used underwater. Must be cured out of water. The color is more towards dark grey than black.
  19. Here's how Fauna Marin Reef Scape foam looks like when it is sprayed out of the can. Used here in a terrarium project to seal the gaps between the tank walls and the false bottom.
  20. Hyposalinity is effective against ich and flukes. Hyposalinity does not affect velvet, the general cure for velvet is copper, malachite green, formalin or quinine sulphate. The effectiveness of UV is based on turnover rate. Optimal turnover rates are said to be 12x the tank volume per hour. This is one reason why small UV units do not work well to control pathogens in large systems. The more pathogens UV can kill before they infect your fish, the more time your fish can build up its immunity to fight off the pathogen.
  21. Hmm..if your nutrient levels are quite high I would recommend going slow on bringing the nutrient levels down. Use 1/4 the recommended dosage and increase it to the recommended dosage over a couple of days.
  22. Hmm kiko, how's the Ultra Life working for you? For your sun corals you could try Ultra Min D, nutrients meant for azooxanthellate corals. I put some at Iwarna, you can check it out.
  23. Depends how you look at it. It's actually fine. At least the word used was not indigenous.
  24. Thanks guys.. but too bad not the first, only the 4th person to breed this species. Feels weird to be "a native of Singapore".
