  1. Berrykin..my tank something like yours. I have never tested the nitrates till now...so I'm not overly concerned. Anyway...I found out from past experiments of mine last time that changing 50% of the water does not equivilate to removing 50% of nitrates. It does'nt work that way. It might only end up removing 10% or less of your nitrates. You might want to try AZ-NO3? Or BioHome..which is what I am using..have not tested how efficient it is at nitrate removal though.
  2. ...why would you want a botak sea fan?!
  3. Hehe..lucky my tank no more damsels..got tired of their aggressive behavior..no more clownfish for me too. Now can keep all da peaceful fish. Btw..you got try square anthias? Those quite big..think maybe can scare the damsels off?
  4. I see a disturbed habitat. The dense undergrowth means a lack of canopy coverage. Probably land cleared and nature found a way... I thought I saw a dinosaur.
  5. ...your tank is way too overstocked...why so many fish? I think got about 15 fishes at least
  6. Someone should show him a show tank without a chiller running to shut him up.
  7. Hmmm..nice...but see some algae on the left sand bed starting to appear.. Maybe can try a florida lettuce nudibranch?
  8. Ya...I'm keeping an eye on mine twice a day..in case something happens.
  9. Too bad Singapore too warm...unless you have a very very strong chiller can forget about keeping potbelly seahorse... I once emailed the guy who brought in some potbellies for display last Aquarama. The info on their care requirements that he emailed me...said that they need temperatures below 25 degrees celcius. Imagine just buying a chiller to keep seahorses.
  10. It's ok..every person will have different views. Anyway..I enjoyed the pic.
  11. I frankly see no use of the '+' connector.
  12. When stocks just arrive it will be cheaper. After awhile when they clear some stock then the price might be more expensive due to efforts to store and upkeep them. Remember I bought my yellow goniopora for only $15.
  13. Wow..very nice pics...love the pygmy seahorses...but even large ones hard to keep...not to mention such tiny ones...
  14. Think I need a haircut...but maybe in 2-3 weeks time..must save for T5. Must skip meals also..
  15. For me ah.. 1) Yellow Tang 2) Fire goby 3) Purple goby 4) Yellow coral goby 5) Yellow watchman I would choose these...as with the gobies...low bioload...yellow tang eat the algae in ya tank... All reef safe.
  16. Put them under swop or free gift....nudibranch lovers might set up a separate tank for them... I got no space for any more tanks..and my main tank has some very nice zooxanthids...oh well..have to give them a miss...
  17. Hey...you can give your infested zooxanthid colony to that guy...maybe he would love those nudibranchs? Anyway...here is mine...2 months already. Maybe it is slowly starving to death? Not sure...just see it crawling about all day.
  18. For me I just cut off some of my finger leather frags...place them on a rock upright..and they will attach after a few days..don't need to glue them.
  19. I found out that they look more red when exposed to more blue spectrum.
  20. Btw...my blue sea fan seems to have some brown stuff..like diatoms growing on it..is it harmful? My red sea fan has been in my tank longer than the blue one but has not experienced such problems. Now my blue sea fan seems to have some problems extending its polyps properly because of the brown diatom like stuff growing on it..what should i do? I tried shaking it gently upside down in the water but the brown diatom like stuff wun come off...
  21. berrykin..maybe you should remove ur clownfish to stop it from harrassing the goniopora? Btw...you can see mine under my tank setup..Under Members Tank & Specs...Mine nothing harrass it except one small yellow goby and 2 small anemone shrimps...but open big big!
  22. I used to keep one that grew n grew cause it kept catching stuff. Some things it used to catch and consume...cleaner shrimp..dwarf angels...and even flame scallop.
  23. Yep..only when I upgrade my lights to T5 then i keep more light demanding ones. Some people might argue that goniopora is light demanding...but I have done some reading up and have found that they occur naturally in rather turbid water...that's what their long tentacles are for...to stretch to gain enough light. Oh well...will keep it to see how it goes..should have my T5s up in 2-3 weeks time anyway. I've thought about a sump...but not possible... A canopy has limitations...not to mention that my TV is next to the tank..I can't risk salt spray. Thought about the I-box too...but I have less than 2 inches behind my tank. Thought about having 2 pumps..1 to pump water into sump..the other to pump it back...but can't stand the thought of either pump failing. So for now I just accept my tank's fate as being sumpless. Oh well...think I will live with it for now. I might be upgrading my Azoo to a weipro..but a weipro is bigger and looks more weird in my tank. Now my Azoo already fully encrusted with stuff. Think I shall just leave it be...after I get my T5s then see how.
