  1. Oh ya..tanks of this dimension usually come in 6mm. If your glass thickness is only 6mm I would suggest against filling up with so much water. My water level is limited to about 4 inches from the top of the tank. I'm paranoid.
  2. Wow..tidur nice tank..same size as mine.. I'm using the same type of cooling fans as yours...btw...are you worried about it falling into the tank? I'm putting my reflector at the tip of it just in case it decides to fall. Erm..is'nt that a lil too much fish? Your fish bioload is like 3X more of mine...
  3. Sometimes, they got no choice but to order excessively to give us consumers more competitive pricing. When the buying stops, the killing stops. As long as there are customers, there will surely be mortality rates along the way. It's an undeniable fact of all aquariums, even the underwater world. You might see a happy stingray swimming about in the water...but many others might have been sacrificed just to get that healthy specimen.
  4. Don't just condemn just yet. They are improving. The past few times I went there...the uncle was either removing dead fish from tanks...or changing water for the fish. Definitely improving.
  5. Definitely not ordinary sea fans. Those are the deep water species
  6. I miss the time when cat eye bubbles were like $20+ only....
  7. AHhahaa..someone still say no $$... =x
  8. Yay..my proff has helped me to identify it...to all nudibranch lovers...it is... Tritonopsilla alba !!! Feeder of soft corals...like colt corals...think now I know how to give it more food..
  9. I use water straight from the tap. Never used any anti-chlorine tap...10 plus years of fishkeeping and it has never given me problems. Last time freshwater can change up to 80% with tap water without dechlorinating nothing die also. Think it depends on which part of SG you are in.....
  10. Ok..took a pic of this beauty./.finally got a clear pic... btw..my other nudibranch the black with green spot one still alive leh..it outlived my lettuce nudibranch. LoL Lettuce nudibranchs have tendencies to get into filter intakes..but somehow not the others I have in my tank...
  11. Most people don't quarantine corals. Quarantine normally applies to fishes.
  12. Wow..nice pic...galaxy coral..no doubts about that. Anyway...sounds like it's not your pic. Best if you put a link to the pic on the webby...alot of copyright laws around..
  13. No need to feed too much. They rely more on lighting. Once a week would do fine. Corals like hammer and other LPS don't need so much protein. They don't grow that fast.
  14. Why do you need to blend them?! Are'nt they small enough?
  15. The most often causes of anemone death are 1)Lack of lighting 2)Inappropriate water conditions 3)Feeding them to death Every species of anemones have their own requirements. Pls check up on the species you are keeping. Not all anemones have the same requirements.
  16. Nice corals. Is it a nano tank?
  17. Hmmm..I'm no expert in this field..but would just like to give some of my views..alkalinity has direct effect on the buffering ability of seawater. A stable pH would be more crucial to corals rather than an optimal level of calcium. A temporary depletion of calcium will not kill your coral straight away but only slow down its growth. However, a fluctuating pH everyday could really stress any coral.
  18. Normally you will have to buy boxing shrimps as a pair. They will usually come as a pair. Normally females are bigger in physique. You can try pairing females with males..but chances are there will be alot of failures before you find a pair which match. If you want to keep lots of crustaceans, stick to those with small pincers and small in size. Even if they do fight, no serious damage would be done. I would avoid reef lobsters like E.debelius and E.occidentalis. Those type with long feelers (Eg blue spiny lobster) that can be eaten when adult are rather safe. Boxing shrimps can be rather aggressive...maybe you might want to consider the dwarf boxing shrimp? They have more yellow around the thorax region and are much more peaceful.
  19. It's a 1 inch mantis! I don't think a dottyback could handle such a big one...unless the dottyback is one of the bigger species?
  20. Eh Chinmo bro....I need more of those...you know what I mean right? Just one adult will do.. Sms me when you are free..I go get from you..
  21. I admire your patience and respect for living things.
