Ahahah..I also looking for this fish. But by rights it should'nt be so expensive. Considered our location is far nearer to the natural habitat of this fish compared to the U.S.
$300.....i can buy exotics with that.
Cyanobacteria are photosynthetic. Reduce photoperiod to inhibit them from photosynthesizing. Or give your tank a 2-3 day blackout..your corals should be able to withstand it. Cyanobacteria will die faster compared to your corals. Reduce phosphate. Phosphate building block of DNA. No phosphate..mean no DNA replication for the bacteria.
You should remove as much cyano before treatment. Helps to reduce the waste given off during die off.
And definitely have a good skimmer running.
In planted tanks to raise kH you simply use baking soda. That is sodium bicarbonate.
Not Calcium hydroxide! That will raise your pH and everything will suffer.
Healthy anemones normally will have a tanned look. Brown-green..depending on the amount of zooxanthellae they house. Once these become expelled, the anemone starts turning white. Usually quite bad news from there onwards.....
