  1. Hi guys..clearing this cute fellow from my sump tank to reduce bioload. Not reef-safe but is an excellent scavenger. All my uneaten mysis gets fed to this guy. This guy is RED! Carapace is 6-7cm across. Not sure how much to sell it for..So I'll put the price at $2. Highest offer secures. Will check back at 11pm.
  2. Heh...Terry..i got this red and yellow banded pistol from reb**n... Sometimes they do carry in little oddballs...you have to be observant enough. Actually I bought 2 of this cute fellas...but the other shrimp disappeared forever with my other goby..probably got lost in the undergravel maze. This current pair got lost too for about 2-3 weeks..I thought they were dead too..then one day I saw the fish peering out from below the filter plate. So I cut a hole for them and now they can get out (so far they did'nt want to).
  3. I think there are some brands of paint whereby the fumes do not pose much danger.....maybe can look around?
  4. Saw Bicolor blennies at octopus bay. Lots of firefish at PR. Think fridman's dottyback only ML bring in so far.. Yellow nose goby? You referring to black-ray shrimpgoby?
  5. Ah..boh reserve any orange yumas for me ah?
  6. Introduce them in different areas of the tank and all should go fine.
  7. You have to make sure one is much smaller compared to the other. Let them see each other but keep them separated for a few days. Then introduce them together and hope for the best.
  8. Hmmmmm...i would rather use the word 'massage'. Sounds more sensous. Most women are like volume knobs..you have to know which words to use.
  9. It's not that. There are not enough things in sg to keep people preoccupied..that's why some ppl have too much time in their hands...spreading rumors for cheap thrill.
  10. Christmas tree worms are worms...porites are porites. They are just 2 different organisms. The worms are burrowers, burrowing into the porites. I don't think it's really confirmed that the worms actually depend on the porites for food. Since christmas tree worms are already filter-feeding. Besides porites they can be found on other types of sps as well, but they seem to prefer porites. Maybe the worms are only adapted into burrowing into certain sps corals, that's why people believe that the worms can only survive with the porites. My personal opinion that christmas tree worms don't die because of the host dying....but more often than not they starve to death because reefers are scared of overfeeding phytoplankton. An experiment that could be done is to let the porites die...and let the worms be exposed to forever circulating natural seawater. Maybe that would answer the question.
  11. WoW....AT..when can buy you lunch? tsk tsk...LoLx
  12. Too high a flowrate thru a skimmer can decrease its efficiency....I would rather stick to the recommended flow rate.
  13. Read the recommended pump capacity on the box. It's in gallons. You convert it to litres and you get the answer. You can used an oversized pump if you can alter the flow rate..but what is the point of it all?
  14. Wow...if the sharks go into that pond the owner can swim with them already.
  15. I have a feeling the 'soft coral' is an anemone.
  16. Try planet aquatics at marine parade (near to the 7-11 where the old marine parade lib used to be). Saw some big bali stars just now. $6. About twice the price of sandshifter..but about twice as meaty.
  17. Try using a maxijet 800 or a pump slightly rated around 1000l/h or slightly less. It should be easier to regulate your water flow then. You have difficulty adjusting for skimmate because the pump is oversized.
  18. 2 weeks is not very long. If the blue linkia survives perfectly fine without dying off, a hand sized specimen should last a pair a month or more.
  19. Oh yes...is your skimmer producing kopi-o? The pump seems overated for a 2011. Meaning less contact time for the bubbles with the water in your skimmer column. My 2012 is only using a 1200l/h pump and it is skimming kopi-o already...... I dunno..you might wanna try a slower pump and see if it gives better skimming results..my 6 cents.
  20. Heh..that small goniopora from octopus bay issit? Later i going down..heard got new stock today.
  21. Sell off the yellow tang and get a smaller tang. Such a big tang looks awfully weird in such a small tank. Anyway..the fish you wanna get I.D...looks like a midas blenny to me..not sure..maybe you could take a clearer pic?
  22. No lah..coz now starfish very hard to find..so just bought one $6 orange linkia to feed. Normally I use sand stars as they are local and a cheaper alternative. About half the above price only. Avoid blue linkias (the big ones). I find they tend to die off before the shrimps have even eaten 1/3 of them. And they end up polluting your water. Harlequins seem to hate chocolate chip starfish in my experience.
  23. I've got a yellow watchman which I caught out n placed in my sump (supposedly for sale) to reduce bioload..but then..just now caught it up and put it back with it's sri lankan pistol. After seeing those pictures I softhearted liao. Man..the white-rayed shrimpgoby, Discordipinna sp. and the Dracula shrimpgoby are sooooooo chio! Check out the pink dartgoby and the helfrich's dartgoby!! Waiting for years for the citron goby..wonder why never see it here..
