  1. lolx..nano in the sense is that everything is small. Recently sold off my yellow tang and true perc pair. Now tank looks so peaceful...such serenity.
  2. wah... why everyone aiming for my baby maxima and my jawfish..pressure sia..
  3. Bubbles are bulletproof. If you can have them dying on you there is something very very wrong with your water. I have kept one for years under normal 6500K FL lighting. Recently put it under T5s...now it's sold to someone. Total time i kept it = more than 2 years.
  4. Ahahah..everyone who saw my 4 footer in person was 'shocked'. Cause it's smaller than what they expected. Visualize this..4 ft length..18 inch width..water height onli 15 inch.
  5. wow..din know your house got so many tanks!
  6. Hi guys..any peeps kept these 2 species together b4? I got my purple firefish after my normal one..it was only about 1/2 the size of the firefish. Now it grew to 3/4 the size, and it's starting to bully my firefish.
  7. Dunno...they were hiding back down there for about 7-10 days. The goby came out fatter..think it had been eating all the pods n stuff under the U.G.
  8. Yea..now come to think of it i regret alot..should have forked out abit more cash to buy the paired jawfish. Wonder who bought them.
  9. Another shot of the shrimp and goby pair..
  10. No more corals for now...more macroalgae more likely.
  11. Yep..was wondering how to place the skimmer...so I just thought..what the heck..and I buried the body into the sand.
  12. The Stonogobiops nematodes is promiscuos! Check out its affair with a fellow yellow-head..
  13. Check out this pair! Finally they popped out from their U.G bunker again... Stonogobiops nematodes (goby) and Alpheus randalli (pistol shrimp)
  14. My bloodshrimp recently acquired from ML...actually my first bloodshrimp I got that never hides at all!
  15. The reef bug really got to me...invested more $$ than I thought i would...tank today... currently with irritating diatom bloom.
  16. Rumor...my yasha started eating already. But still very shy. Something weird happened to it..maybe because it missed its pistol shrimp. Now it seem to have paired up with my firegoby! Havent got a chance to take a clear pic..always hiding at the back..
  17. The 2nd picture..the top one is alveopora. The bottom one is goniopora. Alveopora have 12 tentacles around each polyp. Gonioporas have 24 i think..can't remember
  18. NEVER use anything made of copper!
  19. Yep.it's an ascidian. Anyway..marine snow is actually processed and by rights, dead. So if you overdose there is a slight chance of an ammonia spike. For DT it is not so serious as it is said to be in suspended animation, resulting from lower temperatures. So when you add it into your tank it becomes supposedly live again. They can survive in your water longer and it will take a longer time for an overdose to result in an ammonia spike.
  20. I would'nt trust sand from the beach. Just look at the litter washed up on the shore. And think of the oil spills in the past. And maybe seepage of terrestial chemicals into the sand. I would'nt take that chance. Especially when it is very tedious to remove sand from a tank once it is put in.
  21. Looks like a species related to the common ghost shrimp
  22. came across a comparison between berlin system and ecosystem method yesterday..they din have very good reviews about the berlin system...as it does not remove nitrates that rapidly. My setup is something like berlin..and my nitrates are 15-20ppm. Growing macro to help reduce the levels now. Deepened the sand in my sump, causing the column of my protein skimmer to be buried.
  23. Wow..perfect tank dimensions to replace my 4 footer 6mm...but then...why drill 2 hole in the glass?
  24. bro chinmo..when you free to come east tell me..i join you.
  25. Yea..a weipro would suffice. Look at bro chinmo tank..so beautiful. For sand you could go for DSB to reduce nitrates. If you are doing partial water changes and not that particular about nitrates you could go bare bottom, but my advise would be to invest in a better skimmer to prevent any nitrate buildups. And regular water changes.
