  1. Another shot at the beauty.
  2. There is a test kit by Salifert. I am wary of iodine dosing. As I don't have a test kit. That's why I only add 0.5ml every 2 weeks. My one is by seachem..super concentrated.
  3. Iodine dosing is crucial to the health of all xenias. They are known to be more fussy about iodine levels compared to other softies.
  4. Dunno if iodine test kit essential boh..if not buy one salifert one will go broke again......
  5. Get a helfrich. It's a good consideration. After all it will be the first fish in the tank and nothing will bully it around. Anyway..even if AVA clamps down on all corals..you don't have to worry. Got quite a number of reefers doing captive propagation here. Just that you will be limited to sps and softies..not much LPS.
  6. Bro..wat xenia you going to try? I was thinking of a white pulsing xenia sandbed.
  7. Ya lor..still got alot left. Lucky I manage to sell some off..if not can last me a few decades.
  8. Not sure if one polyp will work..but heard from somewhere b4..never tried it myself..
  9. Salt spray on the tube will affect the light intensity that reaches your tank. It is best to wipe the tube with a wet cloth and dry it from time to time to increase its efficiency.
  10. Mine always squeezes thru rocks n come out without any problems. I suspect your rock fell on it somehow?
  11. Try CF...saw some small ones there the last time i went there..about last week or last last week..can't remember..senile already.
  12. I think he meant spitting. Humans no matter from which country can't split into two.
  13. Hmm..In the wild they have territories that are bigger than those that are available in most tanks. They are only schooling in the aquarium because they are confined. In the wild firefish are found in burrows. It makes perfect sense that their burrows be widely spaced apart. When they appear to be shoaling it's only for a short time and that's when they are feeding. It also depends on the fish. If they can tolerate one another then it's your luck... I've tried 3 myself..ended up with 1. It murdered the rest in a 4 feet long tank. There was a helfrich in a certain lfs..got murdered by the other helfrichs. They might seem docile..but you will never know when their tolerance towards each other bursts.
  14. Think just need to cut off one polyp and tie it on a rock with mesh n rubber band. It should grow out in time. Very similar to mushy propagation.
  15. Have you been dosing too much reef builder?
  16. Introduced the female pistol yesterday i mean...typo.. Anyway..a pic of 3 gobies together.
  17. 3some.. Was wondering why the pistol looked different..upon closer observation, it was the female which i introduced today...wondered if it had paired up with the resident male pistol..will try to observe more during the night.
  18. 6 month old flame scallops and my arrow crab.
  19. Some pics taken with flash due to darkness in the caves... Finally got a nice shot of my purple head stenopus...
  20. Sometimes read instructions carefully...it's 4ml of water, 2 drops of the green liquid. It should not exceed one syringe for normal seawater. Unless you are measuring the effluent of a Ca reactor.
