  1. Those are quite hard...but depends on what species you choose. I'be one which is more branching..less 'furry' type. Been with me for about 1 yr+ already. Not exactly growing, but like it's slowly shrinking. Think due to lack of food.
  2. Wah..expensive taste...hehe...kind of miss my ric..had to sell it off for cash that time...
  3. Be patient my bro...now think of the organisms you want to add in your tank. Make a list. Make sure there will be no compatibility problems. Make sure the bioload is well balanced. Anyway..my goby pair..dunno if will see them tomorrow...they like sealed their burrow entrance with sand. Or issit the evil pistol? I wonder how they even breathe.
  4. Think the only time i will be able to sell pistols is when i tear down my entire tank to get them out. Anyway..eAquarist got bring in very often wat..today saw 2 more sri lankan pistols.. was tempted...but NO MORE!
  5. dunno if they eat copepods in the first place...toking about them..saw another copepod exoskeleton floating about in my tank today..
  6. Gobies can get along with almost anything. Might have slight problems with intraspecies aggression though. Anyway...as long as they get their own fair share of space they will do just fine. Gobies don't need a deep sand bed....dsbs are recommended for jawfish really..but for mine it seems pretty relaxed without much sand..coz nothing is there to bully it already..esp after i sold off my yellow tang.
  7. Yea...just that now both my rainfordis got whitespot...partly my fault..my tank still got mild whitespot outbreak but i add them in..Oh well..hope they get immune to it...like the rest of my fishies... Both of them still not eating yet..but belly full full leh...always pecking on rock... Getting them to feed is harder than purple queen.
  8. It's not that big. Its about the height of a 2213. Just that it's squarish in design. You should consider it......since washing the canister will take place frequently. 2213 models don't have the valves to cut off the waterflow. I used to have one..always ended up with a wet floor during canister washing. Also must fill the canister manually after everytime i take it apart for cleaning...Furthermore, 2213 can't adjust the flow rate. 2226 can. Consider...
  9. Sea fans don't do very well....they need to be fed everyday..putting a strain on your filtration. Also, the constant rubbing of the seahorse's tail on it will wear off the tissue in time to come. You will end up with a botak seafan.
  10. 2nd hand Eheim professional model 2226. Used for about 2 years for FW and then SW for awhile. Can let go at $100. Can't go lower... ..Already much less than 50% of the price of a new one already.....
  11. Huh..got call me meh..I thought only strat and his gf know me...you never see me b4 how you know it's me?
  12. diatoms r food for copepods and other micro-organisms. In fact, they are classified under phytoplankton.
  13. I used to have a menace in the form of a false gramma (dottyback)...used to feast off the eyes of newly introduced cleaner shrimp.
  14. The larger goby has been in my tank for 6-7 months already. The newly introduced gobies...1 ended up with the yashia and pistol shrimp....the other 1 is sleeping under the U.G with my older goby..darn..should have sealed the entrance while they were out in the open.
  15. My tank has been up since last june. It still has diatom bloom...came back in the past 1-2 months. Oh well...learn to live with diatoms. They're not as bad as you think. They quite beneficial really. Only that they are an eyesore.
  16. Mosquito eggs and larvae can't survive in seawater. I suggest you check your potted plants if any or maybe take a tour of your neighbour's place.
  17. Ah..finally my gobies paired up..the female should be the larger one I think.
  18. It's lysmata kuekenthali. Not peppermint..peppermint is lysmata wurdemanni
  19. Yea..that's the name..thanks..aiya..saw me never call me...
  20. It's actually a good thing that coral prices are going up. It kinda prevents ppl from impulsive buys.
  21. It was the reddest one I picked...moments after being bagged it turned grey. Now in my tank became red again.
  22. Big turbo snails can make noises exactly sounding like that made by the pistol shrimp.
