Think I'm nuts..thinking of setting up a shallow fiddler & ghost crab tank...then use timer and float switches to simulate the tides... After exams then see how...
Hmmm..it's from the philippines. Some species of ghost crab. Currently I like one type of crab many LFS bringing in..but $10-$18 for one...also a ghost crab...said to be from australia...but they said it's freshwater...i very much doubt it.....
A LFS in marine parade promenade area..and another one in chinatown..selling some australian species of ghost crab...for $18! Eye boggling price...but then very beautiful.. Was told they were freshwater..but I'm not sure.. Same size as the red crabs eAquarist brought in. Crab fanatics can go have a look.
Hmm..hope this post is not off topic..recently have seen some freshwater LFS carry a species of ghost crab..said to be from australia. Very beautiful in coloration...similar to shape as the pic I posted below..but is more colourful..however, I was told they were freshwater species..and going for around $18 for one...
There are 2 colors..the female seems to be light orangy yellow while the male seems to be dark blue and bright red.
So my question is...are they completely freshwater? I have a feeling they are brackish...

eRM.....I'll arrange collection at bedok mrt for convenience. Maybe this coming saturday...around 1pm? To keep it dry I suggest putting the unused portion in a container into the freezer. That's what I do..prevents moisture from getting to it.
IMO you should not keep it in the average aquarium. It's very cruel to the mollusc. A tank the size of the cuttlefish display in underwater world is more suited for one.
