  1. Phyto is mainly for filter feeders like tubeworms, clams, scallops,etc... Corals need zooplankton like rotifers, etc.
  2. I don't think the species you mention has a symbiotic relationship with pistol shrimps..so by rights it's not really considered a watchman goby..
  3. hmmm..ok..to each his own...I don't trust any fish that looks like a grouper. Some links that share my thoughts on the possibility of shrimp becoming meals.. http://www.saltcorner.com/sections/zoo/fis...mas/Gloreto.htm http://www22.brinkster.com/seafan/fish/fr0...grammamain.html
  4. you using fans? I have fan blowing the water surface 24/7..these few days still manage to maintain temperature at 28...
  5. I doubt so..put one into my tank with 1cm shrimps swimming around and I'm pretty sure they would be gone sooner or later. From the way they swim and the shape of their mouth it's pretty obvious they are carnivorous. Maybe they won't attack bigger shrimps like skunk shrimps or blood shrimps..but anything smaller than ###### shrimps would have to be treated with caution.
  6. Hmmm..nice bluish effect... unlike my tank..stare at it too long will get blinded one..
  7. Don't use myxazin...it will discolor the water. Most likely not invert safe. For octozin it does not discolor the water in any way. Anyway..since it is stated as invert safe...and clams are considered inverts (bivalves) anyway...I don't see why it's would'nt be safe unless they specifically mentioned clams. Why not just remove the clams during the course of treatment just in case?
  8. Yes it cures ich. I have used it on ich before. It will take quite some time to work though. Around a week if I did'nt remember wrongly. Not sure if safe with clam...I wasnt keeping clams last time..
  9. I recommend octozin by waterlife. ML carries their products if I am not wrong. I have used it in reef tanks as small as 2ft without skimming without any ill-effects. Another shop would be in lavender area. The shop specializing in planted setups. Rather near to harlequin aquarium one.
  10. Sea squirts lor. Very safe invertebrate. Don't eat fish one.
  11. dun remember my harlequin eggs being red. it was rather greyish green..
  12. Last pic of the night..one of my favourite acro frags. Wonder how it would grow out. It seems to be sprouting in all directions...
  13. Finally decided to get my a** moving by epoxying this tricolor frag... Well..kind of rewarded..note the growth tips.
  14. Was relieved that someone told me this acro was coloring up...I thought it was slowly bleaching..
  15. 2nd eviota. Resting on grade 3 sand.
  16. Some updates..my periclemes cleaner gotten from PR some days ago. The smaller male got snapped upon by my pipefish who thought it was mysis coz it was slightly opaque. While it was in a daze, my pistol came along and finished it off with a few clicks...oh well..only left with 1..
  17. No...you can't keep 2 royal grammas together. They will fight to death. Unless your tank is very very big.
  18. Might be diseases that the other fish have resistance to. Happened so to my yashias too. Other fishes were unaffected. What symptoms do the fish show? Do they exhibit laboured breathing with decreased appetites?
  19. heh..photographic memory.. Wished it applied to books though...
  20. I got a friend working in night safari.. Wish I stayed nearer to night safari though. I'm an owl.
  21. Pls do note that galaxy corals are very aggressive corals with very long sweeper tentacles. They need lots of space...
  22. Heh...I second that. T5s all the way!
  23. hMMM...that MH looks very familiar. You got it from a LFS in the east area?
